About this deal
While the prior Magneto only had one head (with helmet permanently attached), this one has two heads—both unhelmeted and showing off Erik’s flowing white hair. Nightcrawler is a character that requires a lot of expensive unique tooling to create, so we don’t see him nearly as often in lineups as we do characters that can use a more common set of tooling. Given her significant role in the current era of X-Men comics, I was mortified when the modern Madelyne Pryor figure was lost to fans forever when the Ghost Rider Haslab failed last year. The most high-profile of the four is probably the first 6” Nightcrawler Legends figure since the 2019 Wendigo series. Hasbro has been servicing X-Men fans like never before the last few years, and so it was only a matter of time until they got around to releasing everyone’s favorite fuzzy elf himself—Nightcrawler!
I started collecting Marvel Legends at the right time for X-Men, (I started on the Juggernaut BAF wave), and it’s amazing how many mutants I’ve piled up in a short time. She gets 5 accessories including alternate hands (fists), effects pieces that appear to match Chasm’s, and a whole other little pack-in figurine.
The upper upper torso uses red plastic to get a bright red than the lower parts of the body, but the colors look good overall. This officially licensed Nightcrawler figure comes with 3 accessories for dynamic poseability, including 2 alternate hands and an alternate head.
He’s got a strong articulation scheme with excellent ranges of motion on the joints, a generous set of accessories (including three heads—more on that in a bit), and a solid sculpt with accurate detailing and proper proportions. This action figure is part of the Marvel genre within the Marvel Legends series and included in Wave 1. The second head offers a broad smile and I’m very glad that Hasbro included this one as it very much suits his personality, particularly in the earlier appearances.
