Changes could be afoot at the club this summer given their 11-point deficit to champions Barcelona. Honest and emotionally gripping, WHAT EDEN DID NEXT is an irresistible, sometimes heart-breaking, ultimately joyful, novel of love, loss – and finding your own way to happiness. Sheila writes with such verve and positivity and emotional intelligence - she knows just what it is to be a woman' Veronica Henry It’s really amazing how a collective theme suddenly emerges – almost as if writers have got together and thought “let’s all write about….”. At the moment there are quite a few books on the theme of an island, bad weather, a killer and the visitors being unable to leave.

Eden’s journey of dealing with the loss of her husband, being a single mother, work life and family pressure is portrayed in a very realistic way. There is real depth to the characters and Elizabeth and the WhatsApp group added lots of humour amongst the topics of grief, loss and ageing. I really enjoyed that the story was based in places I knew too! After losing her other half in a tragic accident, Eden is beside herself after just learning she's pregnant with their daughter. Unsure of how to move on and cope with this significant loss, she is aided by her mother-in-law and the rest of the family in caring for her daughter and herself. Fast forward five years and Eden is reunited with her best friend from when she was younger, Rafe, and it seems they have a lot in common when it comes to tragic losses. From when they meet to their satisfying ending, they will each learn how to layer their love for another over what they've lost and how a new beginning is exactly what they're in need of. Definitely make your own mind up when it comes to if you enjoy a book or not, because you may miss some real hidden gems by listening to others. I appreciated the small references included in the book as it was set in my local area I could relate easily. For example the chip shop that sold ice cream on the sea front, that’s where we get ours! A new promo has given us our first look at a character named Andrew, as Justin receives a mysterious note which leads him down a dark path.Home and Away’s latest Australian episode saw Bree and Remi give in to temptation, and next week they launch a full-blown affair. Are they making a dangerous mistake? Use the Foreign Office documents in this lesson from March 11th 1936 to find out about the motives and attitudes of the British government as they discuss their options.

Eden Project The Eden Project

Following the discussions described in the documents, the British Foreign Secretary, Anthony Eden, did indeed meet the German ambassador and make his proposals. Hitler refused to withdraw his troops, and put pressure on the League of Nations to act. France was on the verge of a general election and would not act without Britain’s support. However the British people felt that the Treaty of Versailles was unfair on Germany and was over-restrictive, and so partly because of this, the British government decided to do nothing. Hitler moved on from the occupation of the Rhineland in 1936, to the annexation of Austria and the seizure of the Sudetenland in 1938, to the take-over of the rest of Czechoslovakia in March 1939 and then Poland in September 1939. Benzema, 35, has won 25 trophies in 12 seasons with the club and claimed "the internet is not reality" when asked about his future on Thursday.

Besides that qualm, I enjoyed being able to witness the budding relationship of Eden and Rafe turn into something much more than either expected. I also loved the detail O'Flanagan threw in about the letters Eden wrote to Andy, those were some of my favorite parts to read. This week on Home and Away in Australia, Felicity is stunned as Tane calls off their engagement, while Eden’s meddling could put Bree in even more danger. What Eden Did Next is a heartfelt, beautifully written story set in Dublin that takes us into the life of Eden, a young mother juggling to come to grips with losing the love of her life, raising her daughter alone, and rekindling a friendship with her childhood friend Rafe, a young widower himself who has just returned home from the United States to raise his daughter and hopefully learn how to move on from the all-consuming grief he can’t seem to shake. Heart-breaking, life-affirming and unforgettable new novel from Sheila O’Flanagan… Honest and emotionally gripping, WHAT EDEN DID NEXT is an irresistible, sometimes heart-breaking, ultimately joyful novel of love, loss and finding your own way to happiness... With this latest novel, O’Flanagan has once again shown that she is a queen of heart-warming women’s fiction.’ – Better Reading This week on Home and Away in Australia, Rose is put on the spot when Mali’s sister arrives in Summer Bay demanding answers, while Gabe gets some devastating news.

About the book: “Five years after the death of her firefighter husband, Eden knows better than anyone that life can change in an instant. Now, instead of the future she had planned with Andy, she has Lila - the daughter he never got the chance to meet. And instead of Andy, she has his family. He made his debut against Luxembourg, coming on as a substitute to become the eighth youngest player for his country. And he went on to feature at three World Cups and two European Championships, as well as captaining the team 56 times. Then Eden meets someone. Someone she knew before Andy, before Lila, before the tragedy. Someone who reminds her of how she used to be. But Andy's mother has other plans. And Eden is facing an impossible choice. One that could tear a family apart . . . This week on Home and Away in Australia, Marilyn gets a breakthrough in her fight against Stunning Organics, while Andrew’s dark origins begin to unravel. Sycamore Grove is a housing estate consisting of twelve houses of varying sizes. Along with a neighbourhood watch full of busybodies and a separate WhatsApp group to gossip about their new arrival, a single father. The women of Sycamore Grove take it upon themselves to ‘mind’ him.

There’s so much angst, so many recriminations and much soul searching, along with anger and grief. It’s a thought-provoking read.
