This was a good test of the Blon's imaging chops, which I found it to pass fairly admirably. While I couldn't pinpoint exactly where every instrument in the band was as the song got busier and more sections of the band became involved, there was good enough directionality and instrument separation to where I felt immersed in the music. Gritty brass section, upright bass, drums, bongos, and saxophone all had their place in the mix and none of them overpowered another. The very short nozzle also means that they won’t go deep inside your ears and will therefore require larger eartips. This may be an issue for both comfort and isolation, as getting a good fit becomes quite difficult. Finding the right eartips may be challenging: in my personal case, I found it difficult to find eartips that provided good seal, as even the large foam tips I usually use proved too small. In the end, the best tips I found were the Dekoni Bulletz. To make matters worse, the cable is noodle-thin without strain relief, and with a fair bit of microphonics. Using the Final E3000 with a shirt-clip (not provided) or with the provided silicone ear hooks may lower the microphonics somewhat. The E3000 are a dark and very bassy set. So these IEMs synergize better with analytical or brighter sources. Pairing the E3000 with a warm and analogue-sounding source will just make things very mushy and nebulous! Final Audio E3000 Sound Ah, the mids. It goes without saying that BL-03 is acclaimed because of its mids as well. Mids are forward sounding and coloured, and it is a formidable powerhouse, tonally pleasing and ever poised for coherent musicality. When considering the mids, everything else falls into its rightful place. Mids are not recessed at all, which speaks volumes of the BLON sound engineers’ knowledge when creating the BL-03s. Upper mids have clarity in spades. Male and female vocals sound airy, crisp and warm, but not to the point of sibilance. BLON BL-03 is truly a gem in the aspect of mids, easily overthrowing mids of higher priced iems out there.

Nonetheless with certain kinds of music like the Spitfire the experience is immaculate and you are going to feel like sitting next to the subwoofers. The simple fact that I‌ would take so much time comparing the BL-03 an earphone that costs twice the price, and say that it may be better for some people, is a testament to how good it is. Wire seems good nothing to write home about. It is a soft, braided cable. I've read it can be easily replaced by a after market 0.78mm 2 pin cable. Haven't tried this myself. U SHAPED SOUND SIGNATURE: The BLON BL-03 earphones are designed with a smooth U-shaped sound signature that ensures a seamless transition between the lower, mid, and higher-end frequencies. This creates a clear and balanced sound that is free from any muddiness or overlapping, allowing for crisp sound reproduction. The treble on both of these earphones is quite similar but the V2’s treble sounds more forward and brighter because of it’s less forward midrange. Tonality-wise, the BLON sounds more natural with a lifelike timbre, although the V2 does add great texture to electric guitars. BL-03’s soundstage feels more organised, as well as being wider and has better layering. This is a hell of an achievement for such a bassy iem and while listening to Billie Eilish I was getting some great amount of hard hitting bass while at the same time I was able to enjoy her clear vocals and a well defined treble. The E3000 is much more smooth than the Heart Mirror, and the latter can be fatiguing for treble-sensitive folk. They are tuned very differently, but can be seen as complementary sets for the different sound signatures they bring to the table. Vs. iBasso IT00 Certain parts of the lower registers appear masked and overlaid, bass is one note sounding and not agile enough to keep up when things get busy and fast. Now we get to the fun part – the sound. The BLON BL-03 has a balanced presentation with a bass that’s slightly enhanced, clear mids with a bump in the upper midrange for extra presence and a treble that is detailed and lively but not harsh. All this is wrapped up in a fairly large stage with good overall tonality. Bass

The same goes for the treble which is not amplified to compensate for the extra bass but it still has some good amounts of energy and agility. Another strong showing from the Blons. Tatsuro's vocals are front and center, bassline is well controlled, drums are present and have good snap with no sharpness, electric guitar to the right providing a consistent groove, adequate space in the stage for the saxophone solo, and for Tatsuro to belt out his lovely high notes into the heavens. If you prefer a musical, warmer, more rhythmic sound, then the BL-03 will probably appeal to you. If you want a more resolving, more mid-centric sound, then you will probably like the T3. Now that I’ve had a chance to listen to the BLON‌‌ BL-03, I can see why so many people are in love with these things. While there are more detailed, more resolving IEMs out there, I believe the BLON sets a new standard for musicality at this price point. I do not recommend the E3000 to be used on subways or in noisy environments, as outside noise gets in and affects the sound quality. Not to mention, some may boost the volume to overcome the external noise and this is surely not safe for long-term hearing health.Forward sounding imaging, when I close my eyes I can visualise the band and vocalists in a small studio. They come in two colors, one being silver, and the other which I have, is called brown, even though it comes across as a pewter color to me. The treble has good energy and provides detail and airiness. There’s a peak in the lower treble that adds clarity to the overall presentation but avoids any sibilance. After the lower treble peak, the high frequencies taper off steadily.

Lows: The lows are most probably tuned to bassheads’ liking. The midbass is of a thumping and hard-hitting nature (biggest mid bass thump in any iem I ever tried), but not to the point of being fatiguing. The creation of BL-03 has many bassheads having a field day. Snare drums and hi hats sound organic and warm, very natural. The additional costs of aftermarket tips and cable may also strip the BL03 of its “★★ value” after it is factored into the total price of the resulting setup. Build Quality: My pair of BL-03s came in Gunmetal Silver. Has a nice classy look and feel to it. The gunmetal finish gives it a premium feel. Enjoy a punchy bass and brilliant vocals with the BLON BL-03. These earphones use a carefully tuned 10mm dynamic driver with a carbon diaphragm. And, it does all this on a budget. What's not to like? The first part of the mids is perceived as relatively distant. The body of the male voices and instrumentation in this area is lighter and thinner. This has an impact on the appreciation of texture and details/matices in them. The rendering is simpler and flatter, with little three-dimensionality. The best thing remains the timbre, which feels very appropriate and natural. The sinking of this area is evident when the musical passages have bass, also the first treble predominates over this area. The result is an impoverishment of this first half, in an IEMS whose tuning in comparison to previous models should improve in this area. And this has not been the case. My assessment in this respect is critical: having to turn up the volume to perceive the closeness of the mids is not a solution when the bass remains in the room for a long time. So I am disappointed to have found this initial gap, even though the price level is so low.I tested the BLON BL-03 using various gear, including a Topping D30 feeding a Venture Electronics RunAbout 2.0bl and a Topping DX7 while at the desk, plus a Shanling M2X while on the go. In both cases source files were chiefly FLAC files ripped from CDs (16 bit, 44.1 kHz). BLON BL-03 Overall, If you want one warm , slightly bassy ,forgiving , relaxing, beautifully tuned iem ,I assure you ,it will fulfill your driams and open up new oppoties to fall in love with you favourite tunes once again. vs BLON BL-05SThe BLON BL-05S is my personal favorite BLON till date. It offers the best technicalities among all BLON offerings that I’ve tried and the tuning is pretty solid as well. The fit is a notable improvement over the BL-03 and even the BL-MAX but the cable and tips still require swapping out. It is not very sparkling, not too extended nor the most refined and clear sounding but detail retrieval is not missing.

Now I will note one thing: I actually preferred the midrange tone of the BL03 to all of the above. The T4 and OH1/OH10 were a tad too shouty in the upper midrange for me, while the GR07’s treble response left something to be desired. The BL03 balanced upper-end energy without being overly-forward, and the “safeness” of its tuning is therefore its greatest strength. So let me put this straight. I am coming from Focal Spark and sr850. Mic on focal went kaput within a few months and both the metal casings popped open last week. For a brand as renowned as focal, the quality turned out really bad. No complains on the sound quality though. Even the mic was really good while it worked. It's just that it worked for only a year. Anyway.. You may receive an “ideal sample” with the aforementioned linear response, or receive a unit that’s similar to the three that I have. It’s all lottery and I cannot guarantee anything.SELECT COMPARISONS vs BLON BL-03The OG superstar of the BLON family still remains unchallenged and seems to have been one of the rare “justified” hypes in recent years. The BL-03 is cheaper than the BL-MAX, has a worse fit, and requires both cable and tip changes. The BLON BL-03 in some way reminds me of the Shure SE215 in some way, although they are at 2 different price points, which speaks really well for the BLON BL-03 actually. The only place where I would rank the Shures over the BLONs is in terms of fit since the Shures have an almost unbeatable and proven universal design. Both earphones have a sort of fun tuning and boosted bass, but I would find that the imaging on the BLONs is more accurate and immersive and the treble extension is much better on the BLONs as well. For the price and as usual, the content is acceptable. Nowadays, it seems that including a pouch to store the product is something to be highlighted, when before it was very common to receive a zipped case, whose protection capacity is much greater. When worn with the included cable, the BL-03 is awkward and frustrating. However, using another cable with straight 2-pin connectors it becomes very comfortable and the shells practically disappear in my ears. The smooth rounded surface of the shells can be worn for hours without creating hot spots or any discomfort. If you can't hear the bass, that probably means you have a poor fit/seal. The BLON is actually quite a bassy IEM.
