Probably my first proper foray into manga, and I'm loving it! It's basically what I've wanted to read about for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I liked both the first Jurassic park book (second one I still have to read) and the first two movies. (The jurassic world ones can go take a hike though.) But I also just want a dinosaur story that show's them off how they would behave realistically and how cool they are without all the gore. One that didn't focus on the horror aspect and how it's always just about dino and humans killing eachother. Or the those 2000's dino doc's that just focused on fighting? I think I hated those as a kid. Show me more of the daily life of dinosaurs, how they socialize, raise young and stuff, not just hunting and fighting. If you're looking for something similar, then I think Dinosaur Sanctuary is a good fit! Note, I'm not that well versed in Manga, my experience coming mainly from reading Nausicaa and Junji Ito, but when I saw someone discussing this book somewhere, I knew I had to look into it. And it is a great story for dinosaur enthousiasts. Creatures that are too dangerous for your current Player Level, as shown on their creature portrait. Can the keepers safely remove an obstruction from a Troodon’s throat? Can they help boost the popularity of a triceratops with a broken horn so he won’t be sold to another zoo? Did the vet catch the signs of kidney disease in the Dilophosaurus in time?

This was really good! (Even though I was surprised by how scientific it was even if in hindsight the blurb obviously says that. LOL!) Dino fans will probably enjoy the educational aspects as each chapter educates about a different creature. The rest of us will probably let our minds wander as we read about good-intentioned caretakers doing their jobs thoughtfully and earnestly. Danica Davidson of Otaku USA praised the story, characters, and extra notes from Fujiwara, noting that " Dinosaur Sanctuarydoes a good job of making [dinosaurs] like animals with personalities, rather than monsters in a monster movie". [13] Jonathan Greenall of Comic Book Resources praised the tone and art style. Additionally, Greenall felt the series does a good job of describing how to care for animals. [14] J. Caleb Mozzocco of School Library Journal also praised the artwork and characters. Mozocco felt the plot was "[ Jurassic Park but] the park works like it wassupposed to". [15] The location is included as an expansion named Dominion Biosyn Expansion for the game Jurassic World Evolution 2, which players can work for Biosyn, construct the research facility and manage the valley. This is by far the greatest dinosaur manga of all time. It treats the titular animals like animals, rather than simply giant monsters to be feared. The first chapter made me tear up, this is special. The protagonist is someone that I personally, as a huge Paleonerd, can relate to. I want more people to read this. I was always that guy who said: "You see that bird over there? Well, that's technically a dinosaur.". I love seeing that somewhere after all this time. On top of that, the dinosaurs are mostly pretty accurate which is a huge plus. I love how this manga teaches

Dinosaur Sanctuary Vol. 1 (Dinosaurs Sanctuary) : Itaru

Jonathon has always been fascinated by media, from the big hitters to the small, obscure, and often overlooked titles that linger on the sidelines, capturing both the on and off-camera stories that make these shows so fascinating. There obviously wasn't a lot in this first volume other than introducing characters (including dinos) and setting the scene, but there's a great little teaser at the end that will leave you wanting more. I'm definitely curious about where this series will go.A richly detailed manga about a rookie zookeeper learning how to care for dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, sure to delight dinosaur lovers!
