About this deal

And you can't do this when they are thrown from crisis to crisis and constantly in danger from somewhere. and into the heart of a forbidden, incandescent affair between a spinster Englishwoman and an American frontiersman. However, two examples of a lack of grounding in the period stood out to me before the fifty page mark.

The attention to historical detail is fabulous, just enough to make you feel there without being a history lesson. I don’t want to give anything away, but events turn to Nathaniel and Elizabeth’s favour quite easily and neatly. I'm willing to allow that; her mother was said to be a Quaker, so a reader can allow Elizabeth some nonconformity, but I could never settle in comfortably into a belief in the tale, which quickly shaped up to be a rather formulaic romance riffing off Last of the Mohicans with guest starring appearances from Jamie and Clare of Outlander and cameo roles from Jane Austen's novels.

Diana Gabaldon is still my favourite, and nothing can rival ‘Outlander’ (Nathaniel Bonner is no Jamie Fraser, though a good contender) but ‘Into the Wilderness’ is in the same Outlandish vain and just as wonderfully grand-scale to get swept away by. The book concludes with an addendum which answers the book's fundamental question--how can one move from the enslavement of sin into God's redeeming grace?

Into the Wilderness provides a unique interpretation of sin as a basic self-absorption that grips every human being and is the source of unhappiness. I wish I had simply stopped with the last chapter and forever held fond memories in my mind of these characters I had come to love. Any time I listen to a new narrator, I right off think they are horrible just because they are unfamiliar, then as we move forward, I become accustomed to their voice.little girls are kept away from the things that would make them strong, in the name of protection and propriety. They currently live in Wales and have three wonderful grown-up children and a beautiful daughter-in-law.

But a pretty woman who stands up to a room full of strange men and defends herself -- that's something else. There was a lot of staring, some bad dialogue (Our hero actually says: "You're a spinster woman, no? Maybe if I hadn't already been spoiled by the greatness of the Outlander Series I would have enjoyed this more. The down side is that this is 2 credit/book and The Outlook series is only 1 credit/book( an excellent series in the same style. We are an independent publisher and home of the Malcolm Down Publishing, Sarah Grace Publishing, and Grace and Down publishing imprints. Glancing up at the cloud that billowed above us, I saw glowing embers being fanned into flame by a fierce wind stirring in the heavens. Determined to provide schooling for all the children of the village, she soon finds herself locked in conflict with the local slave owners as well as her own family.
