About this deal

I was showing this off to some of my 4K friends in a private Facebook Messenger group and one of the members, Sir Robert Jaros, had the following to say. Season one, episode one of Game Of Thrones started in April of 2011, which was the same year that the first Thor film was released and Fast Five drifted onto the big screen. For those not familiar with the details regarding Ultra HD Blu-ray you can refer to my article that includes some pertinent data on the subject.

That HDR10 and Dolby Vision works wonders with these colors, bring them new life in a more realistic transfer this time around. It’s a restrained grade, but one that makes the colors richer and more nuanced, while deepening the shadows and adding a more natural luminance to the highlights. Browse our collection of 4K Ultra HD titles here, including a growing range of stunning 4K Ultra HD restorations of key BFI titles. Seems strange, since the player should be able to see what subtitle tracks are on the disc, and then select the one that matches the setting in the player. The dynamic range of this surround track feels like you’re climbing the highest peaks of Everest and want to shout it to the world. As the storyline presses onward the visual aesthetic shifts back and forth between images that are nearly devoid of color and those that are rich in saturation with better use of the inherent traits of high dynamic range.

Things quickly escalate leaving the audience to feel as though perhaps they aren’t watching the same show/characters that they have come to enjoy so much. For the most part, though, the picture quality of the Game Of Thrones Season One 4K Blu-ray release is good enough to give you all the excuse you need to start watching this epic show again from the start ahead of the final season hitting our screens later this year. However, that’s the ONLY negative thing you will ever find me saying throughout the rest of the review. From the scheming south and the savage eastern lands, to the frozen north and ancient Wall that protects the realm from the mysterious darkness beyond, the powerful families of the Seven Kingdoms are locked in a battle for the Iron Throne. Home Entertainment has a big slate, with 4K upgrades not just for both James McTeigue's V for Vendetta, but also for the complete series of HBO's Game of Thrones.

I will get it when I get closer to having the space to sit down and more or less binge the entire lot. Has anyone been able to determine if there's a significant difference between the special features in the Blu-ray box set vs.These let you watch each episode on the HD Blu-ray with a menu down the side offering supplemental information, and I definitely missed having them on the 4K Blu-ray.

R. Martin, HBO’s Game of Thrones tells the story four great family Houses in the ancient, alternate world kingdom of Westeros—the Starks, the Lannisters, the Baratheons, and the Targaryens. So I feel reasonably well qualified to say that the step up in picture quality delivered by this 4K Blu-ray release goes way further than I’d imagined possible. I did shell out the money for the new complete UHD set but I have a question for those who have either the individual seasons on Blu-ray or the series box sets.
