About this deal

Unfortunately, I no longer have functional N64 controllers to compare directly today. Here is a first attempt at SF64 in a 2 ish years on said Xbone controller. For now, I plugged the Brawler64 into my Mister using the supplied USB cable, and it works perfectly, including C-buttons. But, no rumble in any game I have tested. Can anyone with a Brawler64 confirm if they get rumble or not ? Many thanks. The advantage of the Tribute 64 is that in addition to 2.4GHz wireless, it also works with a real Nintendo 64 console. I had to first hook up the USB dongle to my Windows PC before I could get it to pair properly with the controller, and I put it in X- or D-input mode. Also, I tried it with my real N64 and it works great, and the rumble works which is nice. I also have an older N64 version of the Brawler 64 that does not have rumble, so the Tribute 64's rumble is a nice additional feature if I want rumble for a wireless controller on my real N64.

Like I said earlier I plan on keeping this anyway because everything else about it is great but it’s super annoying that it broke off like that In addition to its classic design, the Brawler64 is also equipped with cutting-edge technology. The controller connects wirelessly to your device via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for cumbersome cords and allowing you to play from a comfortable distance. This makes the Brawler64 ideal for use with the Nintendo Switch, which can be played both as a home console and as a handheld device. Hi Everyone, I had quite a hard time setting up the wireless brawler64 PC controller so it would work with the default N64 emulator but I finally figured it out. Figure I would share how for anyone else trying to do this. Here is the xml element from share/system/configs/emulationstation/es_input.cfg: I'm currently using a 8bitdo modkit for the N64 controller, works great using bluetooth, but has weird issues when using wired USB. Both this and the DS4 I usually use for casual gaming have weird issues with analog sensitivity, range is -127 to +127 (normal for USB/Bluetooth) instead of the usual +/- 80 to 85 I'd expect from original N64 controllers on real hardware. There are a bunch of ROMs for testing analog range, here are a few: Layout is great. Everything is easy to reach and pretty intuitive even when used to the normal controllerAlso strangely enough there is one game I noticed that doesn’t recognize the controller pak in the dongle and that is fighting force 64 it thinks a rumble pak is inserted every time and that’s after trying my other controller pak as well. None of my other games do this with the controller pak so that is very strange. This isn't a flaw so much and I never had one so I don't notice the difference, but the design of this makes it so you can't use a rumble pak

It’s true; retro companies such as Hyperkin and Retro Fighters are updating the way we play with new controllers that look and feel like the Nintendo Switch Pro controller and the iconic Wave Bird remote. Numerous HDMI adapter options exist that can give casual players a decent N64 experience on a modern 4K display. For more serious players, looking into the RetroTink line of products is highly recommended. Q: Can I play other region titles on my N64? New third-party N64 controllers are still being made today by reputable companies like Retro-Bit and Retro Fighters in both wired and wireless formats. Q: Do I need an N64 Controller Pak/Memory Card?I have tested this in wireless, and wired mode. Using very latest unstable Mister build + lastest N64 build. It won’t be much of a surprise to learn that Nintendo has stopped making N64 controllers these days. The Console was discontinued in 2003, but its legacy lives on as retro gaming companies strive to keep this console both current and very much alive. on the same controller on Switch mode, there's no more SOCD filtering on the C buttons (didn't test on the d-pad, as I would have to disassemble the controller to test) I bought both the "Retro Fighters Brawler 64 Wireless Bluetooth NSO Edition" and the "Retro-bit Tribute 64 2.4 GHz Wireless Controller V2", and I am happy to report that both are great controllers, and they both work at the same time as player 1 and player 2 without having to do anything fancy.
