Unfortunately, this gets out of hand when Tenderheart dares Funshine to touch Grumpy's touch-activated invention. After they touch it, Funshine accidentally destroys the streets of Care-a-Lot. The two of them learn about how dares can make you do dangerous and terrible things for the wrong reasons.
Tenderheart Bear is one of the ten original Care Bears who first appeared as an illustration on American Greetings greeting cards in 1982. In Daydreams, while attempting to help a girl named Melanie overcome her chronic daydreams, Brave Heart and the rest of the Cousins become trapped by Coldheart, and are unable to free themselves until Melanie can allow herself to focus on the task at hand and eventually saves them. In 1991, Those Characters from Cleveland and Kenner embarked on a relaunch of the franchise, involving seven bears. One of these, Proud Heart Bear, is distinctly different from the Care Bear Cousin of a similar name, Proud Heart Cat. Brave Heart is one of the most frequent characters in Nelvana's The Care Bears Family and has made many appearances throughout the series. Grumpy, Share, Cheer, Funshine, Wonderheart, and King Beastly get an illness called the "Feeling Flu", which swaps their personalities with one another.

When Share Bear travels to the fabled home of Princess Starglo, said to be the one who turns baby twinklets into full-grown wishing stars, she finds it less hospitable than the stories suggest. Brave Heart is one of nine Care Bear Cousins who received a redesign for their 2003 re-launch toyline. His appearance remains basically the same, but with more rounded features, a larger nose, and the felt on his belly badge crown changed to purple instead of red. This version only ever appeared in merchandise.
