About this deal

None of this is to say the Galaxy S22 feels slow. It has more than enough power for casual mobile tasks (web browsing, app work) and extra juice for videos, games, 4K video shooting, and editing. The 8K video shoot was a stuttering disaster, but otherwise, we were pleased.

While the resolution is pretty average, the S22 Plus wins some points in other display areas. Its max brightness is very high at 1,750 nits, and thanks to the AMOLED screen, contrast is impressive. Cameras That’s not 45W charging, and we’re not the only reviewers who’ve found issues with Samsung’s claims of 45W charging. It seems that the powering speed is closer to 20W, which really isn’t good for a phone that costs this much. Bixby Vision service availability may vary depending on country or device. Enjoy lightning-fast speed

This upgrade is welcome as the 50MP sensor is a large one, so it ‘sees’ more light, resulting in brighter images and more vibrant colors. This is most noteworthy for low-light photography, as we managed to capture some surprisingly bright-looking snaps at nighttime, but also helps during the day to make colors stand out more. Fair Usage policy applies. Special and out of bundle numbers chargeable.4G phone required to access 4G. 4G available in selected areas. That camera combination is somewhat of a remix of the S21’s sensors, with only the ultra-wide and front-facers the same, and the most notable difference is the jump from a 12MP to 50MP main camera. If there’s something that does make us narrow our eyes in doubt, it’s the charging speed. Samsung claims that the phone charges at 45W, a figure that’s hard for average users to test given that the phone doesn’t come with an in-box charger. But when we used an 80W charger on the phone, it still took over two hours to power from empty to full.

To accommodate the 10MP front-facing camera, Samsung has cut a small circle in the display. It's not distracting, and didn’t break our immersion through long games of PUBG Mobile. While the cameras of the Galaxy S22 are slightly better overall, there are some interesting things to note here as not the entire module is an upgrade over the previous model and there are some unexpected downgrades with some sensors. The overall sensor design is superior in the S22, which is always great to see - the main lens goes from 12 MP to 50 MP too. But then the telephoto lens goes from 64 MP to 10 MP for some unknown reason. At least the optical zoom is now bumped up to 1.3x here from 1.1x. We know that megapixels aren't everything, but it's still a huge drop in photo resolution. Still, the overall photo quality is very satisfying. For their enthusiasts, the Single Take and Dual View modes are still here too. Discover 100x space zoom with improved stability thanks to a 58% wider correction angle, AI Auto Focus and VDIS. The camera also has a sharper night mode with a larger sensor, while dual recording is perfect for switching between narrating your videos and capturing the moment.Battery Capacity (Typical): Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 3590mAh for Galaxy S22, 4370mAh for Galaxy S22+ and 4855mAh for Galaxy S22 Ultra. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors. Estimated against the usage profile of an average/typical user. Independently assessed by Strategy Analytics between 2021.12.08–12.20 in USA and UK with pre-release versions of SM-S901, SM-S906, SM-S908 under default setting using 5G Sub6 networks (NOT tested under 5G mmWave network). Actual battery life varies by network environment, features and apps used, frequency of calls and messages, number of times charged, and many other factors.
