About this deal
First, a designer paints their pattern onto squared paper. A card maker then translates the pattern row by row onto punch cards. For each square on the paper that has not been painted in, the card maker punches a hole in the card. For each painted square, no hole is punched.
Large scale weaving can create delicate tapestries that include a variety of colors and images depicted in the weaving patterns. Weaving can also create fabrics used for drapery and specially designed upholstery needs. Traditionally, weaving has been used to make bed linens and table covers, adding color and intricate patterns to these common household goods. What do you call someone who weaves?

Among different weave fabrics, leno weave produces a cloth with an open weave. It manages to be both stable and open at the same time. We get leno weave warp threads by twisting two separate yarns around each other. These threads essentially produce a helix-like pattern. Rajpal, Vijay Rani; Rao, S. Rama; Raina, S. N. (2016). The first that comes to mind is the wonderful technique of colour and weave. In it’s most basic form, this is simply the introduction of colour, strategically placed in your warp and weft. You don’t need any additional tools, just a little bit of patience as the warping takes extra time. Boy, is it worth the effort when you get to the weaving though!
By numbering the strips at the top with the threading sequence of a desired draft and determining the lift plan you want to use, you’ll have the freedom to create paper weavings from almost any threading draft you find. You can also create your own draft without worrying about whether it will be structurally sound as a piece of fabric; after all, you’ll be using tape or glue to hold the warp and weft together, see Photo 9.Weaving with a wavy shuttle is fun, and it’s a simple and effective way to break out of the grid and create attractive undulating patterns, which can sometimes even look three-dimensional. Although just about any weaving can be done using a wavy shuttle, as with any tool, there are certain guidelines to follow. If you do, you will be able to create beautiful, wavy fabrics that hold their patterns. The weaving process can be complex or simple, depending on what pattern or material you would like to make. Simple patterns can be made by hand, requiring only a simple loom to create the desired image or pattern. Weaving involves two separate pieces of material known as the weft yarn and the warp yarn at its most basic function.
