I love incorporating books into our learning, and there are some amazing toddler booksfocusing on 'Under the Water' and 'The Ocean' themes. Some of my favorites are below. I've focused mainly on fiction books, but I really encourage you to look through some nonfiction books with your toddlers. You'll be amazed how interested they are and if you look at the pictures and ask open-ended questions they will learn so much! Preschool books about water teach kids important facts about water, from how it nurtures both people and the environment to how it takes on various different forms depending on atmospheric conditions. Follow along and find out all about water and everything that happens with it during the day.Water: How We Can Protect Our Freshwater by Catherine Barr explores how climate change and pollution are causing people and animals to have a hard time finding adequate freshwater to live. Be inspired to take action after learning all the hard facts. Your child will learn all about the varying phases of the water cycle with this book. The drawings in this book are beautiful as well. The fabulous preschool books about water on our list explain the significance of water to life on earth in kid-friendly language. Yet, despite their conversational tones, these stories never sacrifice facts and information. This book discusses, in a way accessible to elementary and middle school-age children, a variety of different ways people have gotten water throughout history. it also touches on why it’s important and why we need to protect it and keep it clean. This feels like more of a reference book than a storybook, but is interesting enough for older children to learn more about this important resource.

Water makes life on earth possible. Without it, neither humans nor animals would be able to survive! Children find this notion endlessly fascinating.
