On hearing that his little brother had something called Down’s syndrome, Manni wondered if his family was ‘special’ and had somehow been ‘chosen’ to have this gift bestowed upon them. His sense of responsibility and growing love for his little brother were born out of those early days of wonder and enlightenment, and the bond has never diminished.
