About this deal

In terms of specifications, it is a 21,600 vph movement with 21 jewels, capable of providing approximately 40 hours of power reserve. The Orient Sun and Moon v3 stands out clearly for its classic design that is out of the ordinary, but it also features high-quality components. Let’s break it down: ➤ Case and Glass

The ultimate answer to this question depends on your lifestyle, your preferences, your style, and the level of your affinity for Orient. If you are looking for a unique dress watch that does not limit its capacities to only telling the time, then you should not think twice about getting a piece from the collection immediately. The fact that it is also reasonably priced makes it more special and worth it, given that the most complicated watches you see around are incredibly costly. Expected to attract attention, any Orient Sun and Moon watch can instantly pass as an excellent conversation piece since there are a lot of things to praise about it from the material used for the case and the different dial construction down to the amazing tenacity of the movement as well as the numerous functionalities it came with particularly the 24-hour indication.Another notable aspect is its affordable price compared to what it offers. Despite having features and details of high-end watches, the Sun and Moon v3 is available in an accessible price range. Today, its subsidiary Seiko Epson continues this tradition through Orient, offering automatic watches with the sun and moon function at competitive prices. ✚ Design and Features of the Orient Sun and Moon v3 At first glance, you would probably mistake the Orient Sun and Moon Version 3 models for the ones under Version 2 because of their similar structure. From the case and sizing of the lugs down to the composition and tones of the gorgeous straps, everything somehow looks identical. However, when inspected closely, you will notice that there were a few tweaks added to maximize the wearer’s timekeeping experience. As others have said, a photo doesn’t do this watch justice. That’s because of the depth of the face. This is a six-layer cake of a watch. At the bottom is the date layer, then the day indicator layer with the lower part of the face with guilloche detailing, then the upper part of the dial with the same detailing and the day/night indicator. The day/night indicator does not show moon phase, nor does it claim to do so. Then you have the three hands layered above which appear to be hovering well over the face. This accentuates the depth and looks stunning. Although it is slightly larger than expected for a dress watch, this makes it more versatile and gives it a sporty touch.

Unique to the v1, the date window is a conventional rectangular cutout at the bottom. The Sun and Moon complication and it’s relative position to the date indicator take their shape, and remain there for v2. Of course, I can't say that every one of these watches will prove as accurate as the one I was fortunate to receive; I can only say that mine is accurate enough to inspire my wonderment and delight.

Without further ado, in this article, we are reviewing the Orient Sun and Moon v3 FAK00004B. Orient Sun and Moon v3 FAK00004B case This watch offers a perfect balance between elegance and functionality, with a dial full of details and useful functions. The second hand movement is very classy with only a hint of stop during the sweep. The sapphire crystal appears to have a middle layer that may magnify or focus the inner dial and is visible when held at an angle. This is a gorgeous watch when seen in person. Yes, the Roman numerals are truncated on the left side of the dial, but this seems to be a design choice by Orient. The v4 also has truncated numbers, at 8 and 10. This may be a matter of Orient deciding to fit the face to the caliber, rather than vise versa. And while the Roman numeral IIII may only exist in Japan, I find it a bit quirky and fun. The deployant clasp is also very well done and is quite comfortable. My wrist is 7.5” and I have two holes left on the alligator style leather strap which feels and looks high quality. Orient, a Japanese watch manufacturer, has a reputation for producing mechanical wristwatches with fantastic value-for-money. This includes the many dress watches of the Sun and Moon series. Each timepiece is united by the presence of a day/night indicator, which uses a moon to represent the night and a sun to represent the day – hence the name "Sun and Moon." However, any search for a moon phase display will be in vain.

My recommendation is the Sun and Moon v3 in reflective blue. This is because it’s going to be the cheapest (since it’s one generation older) while getting the latest movement. Additionally, you get the beautiful blue dial that contrasts really nicely with the sun face, and shines like crazy in the real sun. Orient made this design choice to accentuate the fusion of old-and-new styles which is characteristic of the Sun and Moon. The Many Versions of the Sun and Moon Collection Clasp: I have no trouble with the deployment clasp, which is quite sturdy; it articulates/snaps robustly and is not flimsy. On my 6.5" wrist it's perfectly comfortable. Make sure you know what the dial looks like before you buy – the product photos can’t capture the true beauty of these watches. In-House Movement

Not a fan of leather straps? You should consider getting the RA-AK0301S10B variation of the Orient Sun and Moon watch instead. This piece is a total stunner not just because of its rose gold-colored parts but because of how the stainless steel bracelet makes the elegant and intricate details of the watch stand out. In summary, the Orient Sun and Moon v3 is an excellent choice for those looking for an elegant and distinctive dress watch.
