About this deal

I was not a fan of Dex to start out with, but he slowly made me warm up to him, and by the end, I ended up loving him. Iris was a character with so much strength and perseverance. There were moments I wanted to holler at her for keeping things, but overall I liked her so much! She and Dex made sort of an odd couple, but I loved them together!

Also, I wanna mention that this might be the only book where I really don’t mind the 24 yr heroine being a virgin. I mean, I kinda get how that would happen in her situation. Could I do without that tidbit and the double standard it usually enforces? Sure. Was it perpetuating a trend where the heroines need to be pure to be more worthy? NO. It really did make sense for her and her individual situation. x ♾️ Reading this for the second time just brought me so much comfort and joy. I loved it just as much as the first time I read it. It was just perfection! This is a slow burn but compared to other books by MZ, it was not that slow. Their first kiss was at 58% so that’s pretty early compared to her other books. I wasn’t complaining though 😮‍💨🤭 Screw it. What was the worse that was going to happen? I'd grown up around a felon. A biker. I'd loved that felon biker for longer than he'd deserved. I knew something much scarier than a big, bad biker with a record. A new job would be nothing in comparison, right?Over the next few weeks they slowly start to get to know each other, slowly becoming friends and then more. It was lovely to watch their relationship change and grow from where it first started. Themes of betrayal, redemption, and understanding are common through her works and the reader often faces moral dilemmas while reading Tarryn’s work.

This book have truly been a great surprise to me. Motorcycles Club are REALLY not my thing, and I REALLY don't have patience for neither Alpha Males and not so much to SUCH long books (unless it's a PNR with a longer world building) so this one - being so capturing and engaging was so NOT what I was expecting. Yeah Dex got on my nerves a few times and yeah, Iris could be a bit annoying with the worshiping of Dex's perfect body but truth be told, it simply didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The book just held me on the edge of my seat and all those little things didn't bother me that much. Even Dex's behavior at the beginning, since I knew there's going to be some sort of redemption on his part, I looked for it from the start and saw not this horrible guy, but someone who has struggled all his life with his temper, a closed off man who doesn't know how to truly rely on others. Iris was everything he needed as well, someone to ground him. It was beautiful to see him change yet in a genuine way. He didn't become a whole different person, no, it was more realistic than that. SO I reread this only a week after finishing it, I just couldn't get the characters out of my head and I didn't want to read anything but this. And I don't regret a thing. I loved it just as much the second time around, I relate hardcore to Iris and I just want a Dex for myself. I highlighted some of my favourite passages this time around so I'm just going to add them into the review. Trip had groaned, shooting Sonny a side glance, shaking his head like whatever was going on was old news. "Somebody's on his damn rag." Diverse representation: Most of her books represents diverse characters, including people of color and LGBTQ+ characters, which diversity and appeals to a wide range of readers. Her heroines like in The Intimacy Experiment are cheerfully spunky, while her heroes are beta males who use emotion rather than physical strength to conquer their relationship problems.Well, there were three other words I'd like to hear but I'd take these from him. That didn't mean that he was the only one who knew how to give. He'd given enough. My bones and heart knew that there was nothing for me to fear. I loved him and sometimes there were consequences of it that were scary, but it—the emotion itself—wasn't. I knew that now. Fireworks zipped up my spine for so long I thought I’d melt into him, or at least melt around his girth. That's not necessarily a bad thing. In lieu of a roller coaster ride, we had a slow burn. I love it when attraction gradually evolves into love. This book had the makings of something great:

Now, I wasn’t expecting anything amazing and really, I didn’t need anything great from a job. I'd been perfectly happy answering phones all day and scheduling other people's dream vacations at the cruise line. It was slow but whatever. A very long time ago, I'd told myself that I wouldn't complain about inconsequential things and I wasn't planning on starting now. Sonny wanted to make a point because he kept babbling. "Just because you lived in Florida doesn't mean you weren't born into this." He lowered his mouth right next to my ear, his teeth nipping at my lobe before he whispered, "Love you."

this is beginning to get ridiculous, but I still adore this book every time I read it, it's my comfort read This man never did anything without a reason. And this reason had him resembling a mama bear. A really aggressive, possessive mama bear. Which said something because Dex was normally that way. I couldn't even sit around Mayhem without him or Sonny within ten feet.

If you’re looking for authors similar to Mariana Zapata, then Julie James, Tarryn Fisher, Rosie Danan, and Sally Thorne are great options. Whether young adults or mid-lifers, Rosie Danan’s relatable characters make for truly entertaining stories about love and life. The Home run happens in the mid 80%, and everything leading up to the magical scoring run was delicious. I really appreciated him finding out she’s a v the good ol’ fashioned way 😬😅🥵. What makes it all so magical is that he learns her body, he worships every inch, and he’s always about ensuring her pleasure, *sigh*, which is all we women ever want in our men during those times 🔥🥰.
