About this deal

Operation is praised for being quiet, while the design is subtle and easily blends in with the majority of stove styles, both contemporary and classic. The Sirocco eco stove fan is a heat-powered, wood burning fan with a unique triple blade design. Made by Hansa, the Sirocco holds the prestige of being the grandest thermoelectric stove fan in terms of size. Its airflow of 350 m³/h is exceptional, and definitely makes it stand out. Unfortunately, owners of inset or built-in stoves were unable to get the most from their appliance with a stove fan, as the fans were designed to sit on the flat stove top. Which is just inaccessible for the inset or built in stove. The only twin-blade design here, the 8 Blade Double Mini Heat Powered Stove Fan from UK Stove Fans features a total of eight blades and has an excellent airflow thanks to a maximum speed of 1970RPM, despite its handy compact size.

It has very large blades that produce a good volume of airflow, we could feel it from 6ft away (about 1.8m). The blades do give a quiet hum, but it is not intrusive. You can hear it when you are stood next to the fan, but it doesn’t disturb a conversation, the radio or the TV. To operate on lower temperature stoves the SmartFan LT ranges have a special Peltier module installed that – unfortunately – won’t withstand any temperature above 190 centigrade so they cannot be used interchangeably on all kinds of stoves. Stove fans use stove heat as their only source of power. No need to buy batteries or pay to use electricity. brought a new model of the Sirocco stove fan, the Sirocco Plus. As the name suggests, the Sirocco Plus is the very same as the Sirocco original plus the addition of a Vertical Mounting Kit (VMK). Have you ever wished you had something you could just take straight from the box, put on top of the stove, and then fill the room with much-needed hot air and warmth? That’s what the Sirocco stove fan can do for you.

Secure the vertical mounting kit using the two screws provided. Don’t forget to remove the countersank screws from the base before mounting the VMT! If heat is what you want, you have to accept that you’ll burn a lot of fuel. Right? Not necessarily. All stove fans need to be kept away from the flue pipe – the Peltier powered fans are the most vulnerable to overheating. These fans should be placed at least 100mm away from the flue, if the fan is to be placed in front of the flue then a 150mm gap is required. Because of the unusual SmartFan construction their fans should be placed so the axial fan never draws air in that has been warmed by the flue pipe, which usually gets hotter than the stove top. If you want to warm up a standard room with a stove that won’t reach temperatures above 350°c, then you need to consider stove fans like Valiant Premium, Ventum 3 or Phoenix. If you’re not sure what maximum temperatures your stove can reach, then you are better off buying a stove thermometer. It is an inexpensive device that not only helps to protect your fan, but also gives you a better understanding of the best operating temperatures of your stove. The Valiant stove fans are powerful, yet silent, reliable and covered by a 2 year warranty. The Ventum 3 is an evolution of the Premium. It starts at a lower temperature and spins faster thanks to the lighter blades. There’s no doubt that stove fans, whether they are electric or Stirling powered, are a huge improvement to the distribution of heat from stoves. Heat that would otherwise gather under the ceiling. Their compact designs and simple mountings have played an important role in generating a huge demand customer.

Helps you save money. Your simple investment in a quality wood stove fan will bring great benefits to your wallet for years to come. The Stirling stove fans are generally speaking quite large, but if you have a small opening over the stove it’s possible the Warpfive Sidewinder will fit in there as it’s only 225mm high. The fan blades are mounted on the platform above the mini Stirling engine and a belt powered with the energy harnessed from the stove top drives the fan; which added to a graphite piston, borosilicate cylinder and contrasting brass screws and counterbalances, it is a thing of pure beauty. Now you have your wood burning stove installed and have had it running for a few weeks, you may have noticed that there are cold spots in your room. Through your research you may have heard about stove fans. Maybe you know someone who has recommended using a stove fan to help with distributing the heat around your house. We have been in the stove fan business for a few years now and feel that we can help you answer your mounting questions:

The Sirocco stove fan is fitted with three screws in the base that can be used to get the fan level. If the fan is to be mounted on an inset stove door with the VMK, one of the screws will need to be removed and secured in an empty hole so that it isn’t lost. As of today – November 2017 – the Sirocco Plus is the only stove fan that can be adapted to work on the built in stove. The Peltier Powered stove fans are prone to overheating, many models of stove top fans have the ingenious bi-metallic strip attached to the base that gently tilts the fan away from the stove top when it reaches the upper temperature ranges. However, the Sirocco stove fans are heavier than their competitors, so the Hansa engineers have come up with a genuine solution that can’t be found in any other model. Hansa engineers came up with the Vertical Mounting Kit that can be adapted to any kind of stove door front and attached to the stove fan using a couple of the three screw holes in the base described before. This way owners of the built in stoves can use the Sirocco Plus fan to get the heat distributed evenly around the room. All in all, The Sirocco Plus stove fan is nothing more than an original Sirocco fan plus the VMK. There is one more stove fan dedicated to work on the beautiful soapstone, gas or convergent stoves – the Ecofan BelAir. It was introduced by the pioneering stove fan manufacturer, Caframo – based just 150 miles away from London… in Ontario, Canada. The Ecofan Belair is less than 160mm high, and has been fitted with two Peltier modules to provide enough energy to propel 140 CFM.

Vast majority of the stove fans are powered by the Peltier module pressed between the lower heat sink and the top cooling part to secure sufficient temperature difference. Placement on the stove of those fans is crucial for their performance. Basically the best position for them is at the rear side of a stove and as far away from the flue pipe as possible. This way the cooler air can be drawn through the fan’s fins. This positioning ensures best performance but it doesn’t mean a different placement will cause the fan to stop. The best thing you could do is buy a wood stove fan that will enhance the effectiveness of your stove. What Is the Stove Fan? Warpfive devices have massive fan blades, they work at high temperatures and produce enough energy to push enormous amounts of air – the manufacturer claims their fans create a stream that can even be felt five meters away from the stove -that’s really awesome! Apart from the fact that your room will most certainly have the warmth that you’re craving for, you’ll hardly notice that it’s there. For one, this stove fan comes out of the box ready to use.As IQ Design’s goal was to provide a range of stove fan models to fit nearly every heating stove and their settings, they offer a smaller version of the SmartFan Original, which is the Smartfan Mini and is only 180mm high. When choosing a stove fan that will be right for your home, you need to take into consideration how much space you have above your stove and how big the room your stove is located in is. The idea for the newer wood stove fans is not a remarkable new discovery; it is actually something that comes from the 19th century. Only the materials are unique to our current technology. Another interesting fit for a low opening over a wood stove might be the Phoenix Mini with 4 blades. Where to place a stove fan?

Battery operated and electric operated fans are not very efficient to use because the high heat from the stove (some can become hotter than 300C or 570F) can do serious damage to the batteries or the electrical wiring in them. They just can’t take the high heat that most stoves put out. Fortunately, these types of fans are no longer needed, as there are stove fans designed to work without electricity or batteries. There is practically no installation required, so you don’t have to mull over confusing instructions and deal with putting small pieces together. Because it’s so easy to operate and it can fast become a normal part of your household, you’ll soon forget that you have this new stove fan in the first place. More importantly, the Sirocco was designed for silent operation. You don’t have to deal with the noise that you get from a lot of other fans. It turned out to be very challenging for stove fan manufacturers to come up with a solution to mount the fan to the stove door. It might not seem that complicated at first glance, but the fan needs to be sleek, easy to assemble, sturdy and fit onto the majority of stoves. These stove fans run thanks to either a miniature Stirling engine or Thermoelectric Power Generators, better known as TEG modules. The generator takes the heat directly from the stove, then converts this heat into the electricity needed to run the fan. There are no moving parts in the thermoelectric generator, which makes these stove fans sturdy and reliable. Probably the most popular Stirling fan is the Vulcan. It was the first model of this kind on the market and for many years the only one available. It has many satisfied customers who are astonished at the idea of engaging the ingenious innovation of Dr Robert Stirling in driving the circulation of the stove heat around the room. As the construction of the fan proved successful only a few minor improvements have been introduced since it was released a few years ago; this includes the shape of the blades– the most visible change. The Vulcan stove fan is covered by a 3 year warranty– which is a lot when compared to Peltier stove fans – but the following Stirling fan brand has been boasting a lifetime warranty for all of their Warpfive models!

Using electricity isn't a good idea either or you'd have to provide heat shielding for the wiring. If you didn't, the consequences could be disastrous, and definitely more than customers would be willing to live with. Thanks to refinements in inventions based on 19th century science, however, and vast economies of scale, TEG modules and miniature Stirling engines proved ideal for use in modern stove fans. How Does the Stove Fan Work? We’ve been asked this question thousands of times through our online chat box or over the phone and, as there are very different settings of heating stoves, the answer isn’t simple. How big is your room? Is it an open plan room that you’d like to warm evenly? Another plus is the low starting temperature of 50˚C (lower than many of the other models here), meaning you can make the most of the heat given out by your stove as it comes up to its maximum temperature. How to choose the best stove fan for you: For a very long time the owners of any kind of built-in stove had been ruled out from being able to have a stove fan and the advantages they bring, as the fans were designed to be placed on a big, flat stove top, which obviously precludes the inset and insert stoves. This marginalised a huge chunk of the market, and a solution had to be found sooner rather than later. The Sirocco has some pretty great features, but that’s not all it has going for it. You also get a 24-month warranty so you really know that they know what they’re doing. This product is also made in the EU, with only the best quality materials.
