With that out of the way, more on how to input cheats for each individual game... Sonic 1 cheat codes for Level Select, Debug Mode and all Chaos Emeralds

Killed the Saturn way too early in Japan. Yeah it was dead in Europe and the US by 1997 but it was still selling very well in Japan even into 1999. Then they killed it. Which is insane because the Saturn was OUTSELLING the Dreamcast in Japan when the DC launched in holiday of 1998.Fuzzy thoughts are reignited with a rush of nostalgia and new-found clarify, recalling playground rows about who would win in a punch-up between Mario and Sonic, or bragging to your mates about nabbing all the Chaos Emeralds. Players will be able to revisit the iconic early Sonic games in a number of modes, including 'Classic Mode' which keeps the majority of the game’s original challenges and presentation, 'Anniversary Mode' which offers a full-screen display and infinite lives, 'Missions, Medallions and Museum' mode where players can put their skills to the test in the form of various missions, and 'Better Than Ever' mode which contains remastered versions of all four games. All codes are below, divided into individual games in the collection. As well as this, there are some additional points to consider: Sonic 2 Debug Mode code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04. If successful, you'll hear a 'ring collected' sound effect. Now select any stage.

Sonic 3 Super Sonic code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 04, 01, 02, 06. If successful, you'll hear an 'emerald collected' sound effect. During the game, collect 50 rings then press the jump button while in mid-air to activate. Sonic 2 Level Select code: On the title screen, press Up x3, Down x3, Left, Right, Left, Right to hear a sound effect, then press any button. (Note: though Hidden Palace Zone is listed, it is inaccessible unless you access it via concentional means first. The previous link explains how to do this, if you fancy discovering a cut stage from the original game!) Once you have activated Debug Mode, press the Circle button on PlayStation / B on Xbox / A on Switch to see Sonic change into an object. In this mode, you can rotate through the items and place them anywhere you like, and float through objects - meaning as well as creating your own platforms (or challenges), you can simply move to inaccessible locations or even the end of the stage if you prefer.Sonic 1 Debug Mode code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 01, 09, 09, 01, 00, 06, 02, 03. If successful, you'll hear a 'ring collected' sound effect. Now select any stage. Choose to Spin Dash your way through the numerous zones in Classic mode with the game's original resolution and limited lives, or the new Anniversary mode with unlimited lives and revamped fullscreen resolution. If you don’t have Sonic Origins in any form, this collection is definitely the version to get for its value, but it feels like a missed opportunity in its current state. I love most of these games a lot, and even enjoyed experiencing many of the Game Gear games for the first time as a curiosity, but this collection should’ve been better and more polished. The Game Gear games also have some audio issues and no options to adjust the display or scaling. The games with two player support even have those versions listed separately for some reason. I feel like the descriptions for the Game Gear games need to be updated to fix some errors as well. Sega did add the ability to save and load your save during these games though. Barring that, I found no way to adjust the visuals or do anything else. In this review, I’m going to cover the new content, the state of the game, and which version you should buy if you’re new not just to Sonic Origins, but Sonic in general. Sonic Origins Plus is available in a few ways at launch. Having already owned and played Sonic Origins on both Steam and Switch, I’ve also been interested in seeing how the PS5 version plays on the big screen and whether it uses any of the console’s features.

Multiple cheats work at once - so if you want to have both Super Sonic and Debug Mode active, you can! Classic and Anniversary Modes: Spin Dash your way through numerous zones in Classic mode with the game’s original resolution and limited lives, or the new Anniversary Mode with unlimited lives in revamped widescreen HD.Sonic 1 Level Select code: On the title screen, press Up, Down, Left, Right to hear a sound effect, then press any button. As well as Level Select and Sound Test, there are many other options to toggle here - including adding Sonic 2's spin dash, introducing items from later Sonic games, and more. Many games added in Sonic Origins Plus are just Game Gear ports of Master System titles. Even the games that share names with Sonic and Tails' original introduction have completely different levels than you're familiar with. There are also different features at play. For example, the first zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 features railcar sections. That makes seeing these levels exciting to experience the first time, even if it doesn’t feel as good as the original console games.
