About this deal

PR1 Pro for a planar set is not very heavy to drive, you can just plug it to your phone and enjoy, but it does scale if you use better gear. What happens though is that the timbre is just a touch metallic and artificial while the S12 PRO is not that resolving and refined in the treble as in the mid range. Tests were done with a Khadas Toneboard DAC -> Schiit Asgard 3 amp, E1DA 9038, Questyle M15, Colorfly CDA M1, Tempotec Sonata HD Pro (BHD firmware mod), Apple dongle, smartphone, and Sony NW A-55 DAP (Walkman One mod) using FLAC and WAV files. There are multiple vents on the front and rear cavities, which DUNU says constitute a special multi-venting system, contributing to strong dynamics and robust low-frequency response. Isolation is hence bang average due to the venting. S12 Pro’s chassis design is a continuation of the predecessor. Multiple vent holes on both sides are effective in alleviating negative pressure build up within the ear canal, and thus protecting the hearing. The independent rear acoustic chamber design makes channel matching to be more consistent. In terms of sound performance, the structural design of the front and rear acoustic chamber effectively discharges the pressure inside the chassis, thereby attaining a more natural sound.

S12 - my thoughts (vs. Timeless, Blessing 2 - Reddit Shuoer S12 - my thoughts (vs. Timeless, Blessing 2 - Reddit

Both have good space to operate, and neither are congested or veiled. These are two awesome options in the world of audio at this price point.

Stellaris has more neutral but wonky sound signature, it has less overall bass, peak on 2khz making the vocal sounds nassaly and instrument more specificaly electric guitar too intense. The Stellaris are much harder to drive. Tonality aside, the Stellaris’ sub-optimal fit may be a deal-breaker. The heavy shells and lengthy nozzles can cause comfort and fit issues for users. I wouldn’t call the S12P the best in the price range when it comes to focusing on details, but it certainly is much better than your average earphone. There isn’t much which gets left behind with this particular tuning and the ability of these drivers. All throughout the spectrum details in my music are present. I definitely would not refer to the S12P as ‘top of the heap’ against a field of very nice iems but I also wouldn’t rate the S12P very far down on the list. IMHO, I can't find a fault or a reason on not to recommending the PR1 Pro especially at this price besides wishing it comes with a pouch for carrying the IEM, but for the sake helping the community : The Talos in contrast, are more all-rounded, featuring a more mainstream tuning in the pure planar mode. If technicalities or a treble-focused soundscape are desired, one can easily use the hybrid setting, which gives greater resolution than the Stellaris. Where to Buy

LETSHUOER S12 PRO 14.8mm Planar Hi-Fi IEMs - Linsoul Audio

The S12 pro utilize a custom 14.8mm large-diaphragm driver with great details retrieval, punchy bass and clear trebles. 102db high sensitivity means that it can be easily driven to volume, be it a cell phone or dongle DACs, S12 will sound optimal pairing with most source / amps. This applies for most countries. However, large items such as headphones and desktop DAC/AMPs (e.g. HarmonicDyne G200, MUSICIAN MDP-2, and etc.) are excluded. The lower treble continues on from the slight bump in the upper midrange. In pure planar mode, the treble extension is decent. It could be more airy and sparkly, but it balances a fine line between being forward and getting some micro-details in without fatigue. In the exclusive planar mode, sibilance is mild. Comparisons DUNU has also released some crowd favorites, such as the Titan S, DK-2001, Zen Pro, EST 112, VULKAN, KIMA, and SA6, in addition to having a vast accessory line-up. Technical Specifications The PRO edition comes with an upgraded custom 14.8mm planar magnetic driver which has a 102db high sensitivity that means that it can be easily driven by a cell phone or dongle DACs.

The Raptgo Hook-X is currently one of my favorite Planar Driven iems on the market that I have actually listened to. There are quite a few that I have not so… take that with a grain of salt. The Hook-X came out just after the 7Hz Timeless had officially disrupted the audio narrative of what a planar iem can sound like. Everyone clamored to get thier hands on the Timeless. I know because I was one of those people. Then out of nowhere this relatively no-name company (Raptgo) came forward with the Hook-X and trumped the Timeless in almost every regard sonically, fitment wise, looks, the whole nine yards really. Of course, it is also a bit more expensive than the Timeless, and much more expensive than the iem I am reviewing today (S12 Pro). There is plenty of harmonic wealth and realism, the timbre is natural and colorful with great chromatic variety, you can hear the uniqueness of every singer’s voice and single instrument. Multiple vent holes on both sides are effective in alleviating negative pressure build up within the ear canal and thus protecting your hearing.

Like many other KZ iem nowadays, the PR1 Pro comes in a small box, in which has the iem itself, a SPC cable with QDC terminal, a few pair of tips with no iem case or pouch Treble - instruments are clear and concise, accurate yet not sibilant, cymbals and high hats are good and can be heard in their respective area. IMO the PR1 Pro has really good bass quality, you can feel the heavy slams, rumble but at the same time, the bass is well controlled, speedy, and tight. The soundstage is wide due to the sense of airiness brought by the treble. It has sufficient sense of depth and height to it. Imaging are good, you can easily pinpoint and visualize all the instruments here and there. Detail retrieval and resolution is also good. I have no complain regarding the technicalities of the PR1 Pro. It’s not the best I’ve heard, but for the price it is up there among the best. Positioning & Separation : You can easily pinpoint any instrument / foot steps if you're into gaming (tested on Valorant) with this set.Sub bass is deep, has good rumble, mid bass slams hard and full bodied, it also has great sense of physicality, you can feel the bass moves air to your ear canal. The well extended bass has a near neutral tuning without over emphasizing the mid-bass so it doesn’t cloud the rest of frequencies and leaves plenty of free space for the mids to shine. Living up to their dual namesake of the Cretan guardian machine and sun deity Helios, activating the hybrid switch elevates the Talos head-and-shoulders above the other planars in technicalities (though at the expense of added sibilance and fatigue).
