About this deal

Pieńkowski said in an interview that the series gave him the opportunity to turn monsters from his childhood into harmless toys. He took his palette from comic strips such as Desperate Dan and Dennis the Menace.

Meg and Mog - Wikipedia

Meg and Mog is a classic series of children’s books featuring Meg, a witch, and Mog, her cat. The books are an excellent source of language for both first and second language acquisition. They can be enjoyed at any time of the year, not just Halloween! A successful stage play also ran in London in the 1980s, starring Maureen Lipman as Meg. [5] Titles [ edit ] Book series [ edit ] So... Meg and Mog. Lovely artwork - simple, crisp, bright and expressive. Perfect for young minds (and their Daddy's). The story itself a bit of a let down. I was expecting more character development, more emotional angst - but there's nothing at stake here, nothing driving the tension... It's just a story about a witch, who lives with her cat and an owl. She gets ready to go out to a party, then goes to the party and the witches at the party all cast a spell, the spell goes wrong and turns the rest of the witches into mice (inexplicably sparing Meg herself), and the Meg's cat Mog chases the mice. The end. I mean.. who didn't see that twist at the end coming? But they cut out before the really juicy scene where Mog catches one of the mice, plays with it, teases it, slices it open, hooks out the purple wibbly organs with one claw, and eats the rest whole... Meg and Mog is the first in the long-standing series about a witch (Meg) and her cat (Mog). Meg is a cute well-meaning witch who lives with Mog and her owl. In Meg and Mog, we are introduced to a witch wardrobe and a witch's breakfast. Later Meg flies off to meet her witch friends for some spell-making at a Halloween Party. Unfortunately the spell does not go exactly to plan... A nice book to read to children around Halloween. Does any of them celebrate Halloween? What do they dress up as?Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - Meg and Mog is a great book, full of great illustrations and fun bright colours. The book is easy to follow and has some really captivating colours. There are lots of comic style speech bubbles. Meg and Mog - Penguin Books UK

For unknown reasons, this plan never came through, and Absolutely instead teamed with Happy Life and Varcara to produce the series instead for a late-2003 delivery, with CITV purchasing UK broadcast rights. [3] The series was first broadcast in the UK within that time. [4] The text is short and simple, and the whimsical illustrations are stylized, uncluttered, and rendered in bright primary colors. The limited text and quirky artwork would make this a good Halloween book to share with younger readers. In 2001, an animated TV series of 52 five-minute episodes was planned to be produced as a co-production between Telemagination, TV-Loonland AG and Absolutely Productions for a 2002–2003 delivery, with Loonland holding Non-UK rights to the series. [2] A humorous first 'chapters' book for newly independent readers or suitable for reading aloud to younger children. Pen and ink illustrations add interest and humour.
