From creative English lessons for women to Sewing Socials for the elderly, and industry standard fabric and textile work training, we offer a range of classes to bring together people to develop skills, build confidence and widen their horizons. It began formally in 2014, matching the need for a London based textile production service with the need for supportive employment opportunities for women with an interest in sewing but with little/no work experience. We assist women facing marginalisation into training and employment, by creating opportunities to learn, gain real experience and learn a trade in a supportive, empowering environment. We now operate an innovative and ethical professional manufacturing service taking commissions from artists, designers and brands who care about who makes their products.The expression ‘a stitch in time saves nine’ originates from 18th-century England.
