About this deal

I dunno how old your kids are, but mine are probably too young for Blazing Saddles. They’re the absolute prime age for the bogies & physical violence of the Young Ones, though. I would definitely have the conversation with them before watching something like that - it’s not on the same league, but I was planning on letting my son watch Ghostbusters this weekend and was going to have a chat about the language in there beforehand.

The Young Ones - The Complete Collection Blu-Ray - Coming

The triple-disc set sees all 12 episodes of the anarchic comedy series, which aired in 1982 and 1984, comprehensively restored and remastered in high definition. Love London, love a laugh, love life. Visually impaired blogger, culture vulture & accessibility advocate, with aniridia & nystagmus, posting about my experiences & adventures.Excitingly, the set will also chart the very earliest days of alternative comedy on television, including the first ever release of comedy showcase Boom Boom... Out Go The Lights, which ran for two specials, aired in 1980 and 1981, respectively. This is a 40th Anniversary Edition boxset that contains all the episodes plus a bunch of news special features.

Neil: Do you think that's where they get the questions from? "The world's record for stuffing marshmallows up one single nostril..." Planer I got a note saying would I go and audition for the part of Neil. And I said: “No, if you don’t cast me, you’ll have to take him out of the series. Because that’s my act.” Other highlights of the show include appearances from folks like Emma Thompson (Much Ado About Nothing, Dead Again), Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter and the SorcererÆs Stone) and Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous) who is apparently married to Adrian Edmondson. Each episode also highlights an Eighties band whose appearance is blended into the plot line as seamlessly as any other turn in the ever rambling stories. Babakazoo There were two DVD sets, the initial "Every Stoopid Episode" release and the "Extra Stoopid Edition," and incredibly each set had DIFFERENT cuts. It's been a while, but IIRC I think one could have edited a complete uncut version together from the two sources if they wished.Where would you stop with the editing/censoring before it ruined the flow and dialogue? Without posting potentially sensitive/offensive stuff here, there are loads more instances of pejoratives and situations where I raised an eyebrow during a recent rewatch - stuff the actors and writers probably cringe themselves to death over now. But to start making cuts and edits would disrupt the absolute comedy gold around it. Difficult. The BBC say that “These episodes have been restored and remastered using the existing film where available, with any standard definition content upscaled during this process.”
