Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? · Blade Runner: A Story of the Future · Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human · Blade Runner 3: Replicant Night · Blade Runner 4: Eye and Talon One of the most loved features of the first Blade Runner is the flying cars, which are just as awesome to watch in 2049. While flying cars aren't yet a reality, the design of the flying vehicles in 2049 is quite realistic and believable. Both Blade Runner and 2049 have been hailed for their beautiful graphics and sets. Ridley Scott is considered the master of set design, and he's always been old school about his approach to building sets, using models and real props to bring his visions to life. We get a better view of them in a behind-the-scenes shot of Denis Villeneuve on set, but they played even more of a starring role in the first movie.

very well done. as a massive nerdy fan of the original, and of it’s excellent sequel, i enjoyed the piece. i do have the cibi whiisky glasses, and also the ltd. ed. bladerunner 2049 whisky bottle in my collection. i just love that, 35 years after the fact, people are still referencing the film. that’s what makes it a classic, a cult fave, and an icon of dystopian film. you’ve done a man’s job, sir. These gorgeous, hand blown, heavy weight, double old fashioned glasses have been made by same Italian glass company in Tuscany since 1974 and are available to buy in our store. She works for the head of the Wallace Corporation, Niander Wallace and she is ruthless. She is his soldier, his warrior. Wallace played by Jared Leto (interestingly, David Bowie had been earmarked for the role) is the zen-like inventor who has taken over and well-surpassed the technology developed by Tyrell in the creation of replicants. Now he is the most powerful man on the planet. The geometric shapes of the architecture and interiors create dramatic shadows cast by the yellow light. There is no natural sunlight in the building so Wallace has created his own (show off!). The Art and Soul of Blade Runner 2049 is a book chronicling the production of Blade Runner 2049, written by journalist Tanya Lapointe, wife of director Denis Villeneuve, who wrote the book's foreword. I was delighted to give a talk at a recent screening of Blade Runner 2049 hosted at the stunning The Conran Shop showroom in London’s Fulham Road in collaboration with Sony. I took this opportunity to dissect and discuss my favourite artefacts in the film. Here I share my opinions on the hidden narrative behind these objects, supplemented by fascinating facts gleaned from conversations with the movie’s Set Decorator Alessandra Querzola SDSA and Concept Artist Mike Hill. Given the technological, political and environmental news that has hit us over the last few months, the choice and design of many of these objects predict the future with more insight than one might realise. Blade Runner (1982) This book is for the fan- the images are crisp clear and huge! Its as if you have the film on pause and I think who ever put this book together it was a labour of love. The first weeks of the project were spent experimenting with the different visual effects that optical lenses, cine projectors, microfiche, card systems, etc. could produce. Even grapes and grapefruits, eyeballs and bone were dissected, magnified, photographed and scanned to create organic abstraction.
