About this deal

There’s a reason the awesome “work horse” brands we love exist and that’s because they’re really darn good and I don’t see any reason to poo poo them just because they’re cheap. Just like something that is expensive isn’t necessarily good. Each and every Member must be of legal drinking age in its country of residence to be allowed to use the Service. By using the Service, and by creating an account you represent, warrant and confirm that you are of legal age. The initial flavor of Evan Williams bourbon is actually not that compelling, but there are some interesting things to be experienced later on. It’s sort of like meeting someone you don’t think is fascinating at first, but later you decide he could be quite charming. As I take more sips, I continue to taste the initial flavors with the addition of caramel, honey, vanilla, apple butter, allspice, jalapeno pepper, wintergreen mints, leather, herbal tea with chamomile notes, and cinnamon. There are some tradeoffs though. Small Batch is a bit sweeter and covers up the youthful grainy notes much better. That may be because it has older barrels dumped into it since it doesn’t have to follow the bottled in bond rules of being the product of one distillation season. Bourbon is a type of whiskey that needs to meet a few criteria to officially be called "bourbon." First, bourbon can only be made in America, and its grain bill must include at least 51 percent of corn. Bourbon always has to be aged in new charred oak barrels at no more than 125 proof (or 62.5 percent alcohol), and it's not allowed to include any additives or colorings. At a minimum, bourbon must be 80 proof (or 40 percent alcohol), with its mash never allowed to exceed 160 proof (or 80 percent alcohol).

Single Barrel: A bourbon made using single barrels, providing a higher range of variation in flavor and the chance at specific, unique characteristics. I couldn’t agree more! While whisky global liquor giants use the term ‘prestige’ to describe Scotch whiskies above a certain age, the fact is that there are an ample number of bourbons too that qualify for this term. But let’s first look at what a true bourbon is as per the guidelines set by the US Code of Federal Regulations:

This review has been a long time coming though. How exactly does Evan Williams BiB taste by itself? Let’s find out. I sampled this neat in a glencairn. Tasting Notes B and B-: Good and above average. The best of the mass market whiskeys fit in this category, as do the bulk of the premium brands. A B- is three stars. If you want to get seriously cheap, one way to do that is to reach for blends and whiskeys aged in used barrels. This is a top-notch dram and one consistent bourbon. With notes of toffee, caramel, cinnamon, oak and a long spicy finish, bourbons don’t get more flavourful than Buffalo Trace. It’s so easy on the palate, we are certain you will enjoy it neat or with a cube of ice. Rs5,000 for 700ml in Mumbai Elijah Craig Small Batch Caramel corn, peppery spice, dark fruit, citrus rind, imitation vanilla and corn nuts. Not wildly complex, but a far cry from being terrible.

It has a melon, spicy cinnamon aroma and a delicate and warming finish. The cinnamon flavor is not overwhelming and has the right flavor balance. Evan Williams Apple

Sorry, but I can’t get past the name of this brand. It feels like a statue that needs to fall. We live in a world where NASCAR gets that message, it’s time this whiskey did too. We tried it neat and with ice, and we were overwhelmed with the rich notes of cherry tarts, ground almonds, and vanilla. In 1795 he founded Jim Beam and used his excess grain to distil whiskey. He began selling it under the name of Old Jake Beam, and in 1820 his son David began managing the distillery. The distillery and brand grew from strength to strength. In 2014, Suntory Holdings acquired Jim Beam to create Beam Suntory. Palate: Raisins and walnuts. Creamy vanilla at the core, with an underpinning hint of vegetal oak. Zesty orange oil. Let’s say you want to lean away from the middle of the road and into peaty whisky territory. You aren’t going to find a peaty, smoky, drinkable Scotch Whisky cheaper than Shieldaig Highland Peaty Single Malt. Although it’s origins are unknown, it’s a single malt from somewhere in the Highlands and it costs the same as bargain buys like Cutty Sark.
