Mister Seahorse: Well, sort of. Because of an experimental stem cell surgery, a cardinal's brain developed into a fully developed infant. He convinced Fran to remove it so he could take his secret about his past life to the grave. The baby was given to the nuns that tried to exorcise the cardinal. Action Girl: Despite the series not really revolving on action/adventure, Veronica is sort of this depending of the situation. Chapter 46 for instance shows her doing spy stuff to steal an anti-fat medicine for Fran from a company that refused to let Fran use it to help a morbidly obese girl. Even Evil Has Standards: The people of unusual tastes manage to out-creep Fran, though the argument could be, as a doctor, she has issues with people who obsessively cause themselves pain. Dr. Madaraki defines World War II to be "a war to kill the gods" because of its promotion of scientific development and the erosion of religion accompanied by it. What Measure Is a Non-Cute?: In full effect here to mind-bending extremes. Between the stitched-up, slightly deranged sisters, the man-headed cat and the Eldritch Abomination Bandage Babe, the cast seems tailor-made to provoke squeals of delight and horror from the readers.

Eldritch Abomination: The brain eating/mind absorbing Flying Spaghetti Monster "god" that Fran helped create in chapter 26. Multi-Armed Multitasking: Often attaches extra pairs of arms for surgery. Which, given the common outcome, leads to the above trope. Actress: "My leukemia has magically been cured, somehow! The doctors said it was the power of love!" Only Sane Man: Okita, the only sane cat-man among Fran's entourage, often acted as a snarky foil to Fran before Veronica arrived. As in, a cat with a man's head. Or is it a man with a cat's body... There is a fair amount of dark humor with nearly each story ending with Fran either creating a gruesome monstrosity or bringing some kind of misfortune upon her patients, though usually she is seemingly content with the results due to her extreme life-preserving mindset. Continuity is often rather loose, as individual chapters rarely reference one another. Though recurring characters outside the main cast do exist, arc-based storylines are practically nonexistent.

And then there is the one time she hoped to kill Gavrill by blowing her up with a grenade. Though, considering what we know about Gavrill, maybe Fran might have a point.

Artificial Human: Like all of Madaraki's creations, Fran is a human made out of multiple body parts which are simply pointed out by the stitches.

Also once the painter can see all strands of the Electromagnetic spectrum he sees eldritch abominations and other horrible horrible things. In Franken Fran Frantic, it is implied that Gavrill had been going to Dr. Amatsuka for her body tunings due to her legitimately caring for his company and well-being, despite her vulgar and insulting language towards him. Raglush - Appearing only in chapters 11 and 13, Raglush's appearance is unknown, presumably humanoid, with his hands and/or fingers replaced by serrated claws. He also shows incredible speed. His clothes are similar to that of Fragon's. Knight Templar: She was built to defend her target by killing any threat. The problem, as later chapters make clear, is that her definition of "threat" is rather lower than it should be. "Girl's School" opens with her killing people for coming near Fran's mansion, and she's pulled her weapons for people just teasing Fran. Losing Your Head: Occasionally has her head laying somewhere else than on her shoulders while her body is working on something, for some reason.

Justice - An athlete who needed artificial muscles to compete in the championship decides to be the city's protector and asks Fran to make him stronger and stronger. Despite his good intentions, he is seen by the city as a criminal who must be stopped, so a group of people eventually take him down. In desperation, he goes to Fran and asks her to make him as strong as possible even if it means looking like a monster. With a monster haunting the city, some relatives of the murdered people go to Fran and go under the same muscle enhancement process as the athlete before. As a result, the athlete is killed, but the massacre goes on between the super strong people. Chew Toy: Poor, poor Officer Kuhou. Throughout the course of the series, she's been wrapped up in a case of more-than-possible severed body parts, cloned to help kill off other clones and then had to kill off the clones of herself (though this is probably a dream sequence), tried to talk down a half-suicidal man transplanted into a theme park mascot protecting a little girl, randomly been ejaculated upon by a Complete Monster for just being in the room, and nearly raped by a Reality Warper, and that's just what we've seen so far; note that the majority of situations involving her are Played for Laughs. No wonder seeing Fran makes the woman seriously trip her shit. Religion Is Right: Jesus existed and was able to work miracles, at least. The Flying Spaghetti Monster also exists, or at least does now. Covers Always Lie: Humorously - and somewhat cruelly - played on with the tankobon covers, which are loaded with Fan Service and Les Yay.

And then he gets the same treatment his wife had at the request of the original brain uploaded robot, so he could be with her forever. He also gets to be exploited by his company to become the male model of the robot, for some added Ironic Hell. Muscles Are Meaningless: In chapter 38, the boy's first request for Fran was to have bigger muscles so he wouldn't be as easy to bully... but she didn't make him any stronger, just bulkier. Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue to both Veronica and Gavril, though not so much to Veronica. And then she manages to establish this dynamic with herself in "Left and Right" when she ends up as two Frans, with one being aggressive, greedy and rude, but logical, while the other is much more passive, gentle and kind, but so altruistic that other people can easily push her into doing what they want. The Sentinel chapters are an obvious homage/parody of the Showa Kamen Rider series, with the four Sentinels corresponding to v1, v2, v3, and Riderman. If someone is about to die anyway, she does let Adorea harvest the person's organs. This has to happen before death or the organs could suffer damage.
