In celebration of all things great about Jura, Scotland, the whisky makers latest offering is a gold coloured single malt with aromas of honey balanced with exotic spice notes alongside Jura's classic citrus and vanilla nose, matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels to add floral characteristics. Generally I love Jura for its smooth brandy-like velvetty flavour, I an not entirely convinced by this particular permutation. I think the slightly peppery sensation , which is no doubt caused by the Our “1810 Old Fashioned”, named after the year that our Jura distillery was first established, is inspired by the impact of flavour delivered from further maturing Jura Single Malt Whisky in American Rye barrels.
