Popoff, Martin (2004). The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time. ECW Press. pp.Chapter 1. ISBN 978-1-55022-600-3.

Kerrang! released a tribute album titled Master of Puppets: Remastered with the April 8, 2006, edition of the magazine to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Master of Puppets. The album featured cover versions of Metallica songs by Machine Head, Bullet for My Valentine, Chimaira, Mastodon, Mendeed, and Trivium—all of which are influenced by Metallica. I originally thought that y’all were on something strong when it came to raving about this pressing, as generally Columbia House pressings are known to be really inferior to their retail versions. Don't get me wrong. I still believe this is not the best version of the album but i must to admit that is a High Quality release and it deserves your attention.a b King, Tom (2011). This is the 2nd best version of the album in my opinion after the legendary "Columbia House" edition below. Rhino version from Box Set of 2004: This version remind you the "MFN 45 RPM". It sounds very loud and very powerful with big mass. The problem here for me is this version has giant low end and not upper end. Master of Puppets it shines on upper end imo. This thing messed little the sound and buried the instruments. The original clarity and atmosphere was deleted in some point but still is a listenable material. Wargasm's Venom: a fun as hell, genre-splicing, relentlessly entertaining ride, and one of 2023's essential debut albums a b Christgau, Robert (1990). "Metallica: Master of Puppets". Retrieved January 26, 2019– via robertchristgau.com.Beyond the reasons why this version is so famous and also so expensive, i believe is one of the best pressings of the album or the 2nd best pressing. Comparing with "Europe" pressings, this one it sound with much more power, explosion and clarity. The sound is very clean and the bass don't mess the sound. Some people say this version is little thin. No. For me has great and very explosive sound. All here sound amazing and especially the drums. Also the solos have amazing realistic sound in your space and general all instruments its straight forward in your face. For example when the "Disposable heroes" start you can understand in secs the difference against some others pressings around the world. And the reasons for all these difference is because here they did "Direct Metal Mastering". And they did great job on that because and the "MFN 1987 45 rpm version" has "Direct Metal Mastering" but it's sound completely different than this one here. Both of them sound great but this is more punchy and more brighter with more details. P.S: This version remind you a lot the "MFN 45 RPM of 1987. Both of them have big mass and they sounding very loud with punchy sound. All in all, this is an excellent version of the album and i believe everyone can love more the album from here because the "Master of Puppets" mixing was very poorly and the music was very weak to come out from your speakers. But here "DMM" helps the album to be more powerful despite this version has some extra noises. Master of Puppets became thrash metal's first platinum album and by the early 1990s thrash metal successfully challenged and redefined the mainstream of heavy metal. Metallica and a few other bands headlined arena concerts and appeared regularly on MTV, although radio play remained incommensurate with their popularity. [66] Master of Puppets is widely accepted as the genre's most accomplished album, and paved the way for subsequent development. [67] The album, in the words of writer Christopher Knowles, "ripped Metallica away from the underground and put them atop the metal mountain". [68] David Hayter from Guitar Planet recognized the album as one of the most influential records ever made and a benchmark by which other metal albums should be judged. [22] MTV's Kyle Anderson had similar thoughts, saying that 25 years after its release the album remained a "stone cold classic". [69] Carlos Ramirez from Noisecreep believes that Master of Puppets stands as one of the most representative albums of its genre. [70] Kaufman, Gil (June 26, 2006). I see many people that own this vinyl on Discogs but no one speaks for it. All the songs sound very powerful from here and the last song of each side has not inner groove distortions or surface noise like many other pressings of the album around the world. As are the discs dedicated to the writing and demoing of the final album. You can literally hear the songs being pieced together in the band’s writing room. Early demos are splashy and given to falling apart – you can tell how they’re faring by Ulrich’s exclamations as the various songs shudder to a halt. At one point it sounds like he shouts, “That was awful!” and he’s not wrong. That said, by the time you get to the band’s taut run-through of The Thing That Should Not Be and Fang’s The Money Will Roll Right In, you can almost feel the magic beginning to fill the room.

Lavish vinyl overhaul/reissue for Metallica’s most pivotal album

So i will review the best copy here. This vinyl it sound pretty good and it's one of the best versions of the album i have listen to. The version has big bass and this specific album needs that and also has very big depth and atmopshere. Here you can get amazing explosion and power and it's very rare for one vinyl that was made in the ordinary method and not with "DM" Mastering. Almost all my copies that have ordinary cutting method, they sounded bad but not in "Roadrunner" case. "Roadrunner" did amazing work on the first three "Metallica" albums. "MFN" has failed very bad to made one decent original version of the album but "Roadrunner" not in my opinion. But if I must find one bad thing here that make this edition to get only the 6 place, is that the sound and especially the guitars are a bit muffled and not sharp and bright. Their music was played at every party, bush bash, and camp fire you would go to": Fully Completely by The Tragically Hip - Album Of The Week Club review
