It did happen that the TV casing was slightly deformed when I took the mount off (see pics attached), it seems the casing receded in a bit, I was a bit surprised with this since I barely had tightened the bolts originally. :S You can use a strap on the wall plate of the TV mount. They are really cheap and are simple to use. Final Verdict: This is just from our engineering experience as a recommendation. I would use the spacers you have to fill the gap if you want to prevent damaging the TV.
You already know what a spacer is. It’s a stand-like structure to hold TV on the wall. In other words, the spacer’s purpose is to keep the TV mounted. Finding a place for your cable box, Xbox, and other boxes... (Blu-ray player, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, etc.) You need to have NO gap between the arm and the fixing point. It is better to put a spacer in the recess and have the rest of the arm 'floating' than have a gap between the arm and the fixing point.
