They’re giving the series a Deluxe Edition treatment with hardcovers. Kodansha has released Deluxe Editions in the past for series like Battle Angel Alita, but they are upping the ante with the Vinland Saga Deluxe Editions. Not only are these new editions bigger, measuring 7 by 10 inches, the same size as releases like the Berserk Deluxe Editions, but they also come with red leather-patterned covers that have Viking runes and logo stamping on them. Okay so first of all based on the cover I thought that this was a more fun, family friendly adventure manga... don’t judge a book by it’s cover! While not particularly graphic or anything (this is a hard PG-13 or mild R) this is a gritty viking tale. I will admit I don’t know a pile about vikings (though know a bit) so while I may have missed some historical inaccuracies, this did seem fairly historically accurate based on what I know of vikings. A wizard's job is never done! Get fired up for the official sequel to Fairy Tail, with story and layouts by original creator Hiro Mashima himself.My brother wanted me to read this; and I have to admit- it was pretty amazing. The ending had me in my feeelings 😌.

OMG!! This is so good! Almost made me cry at the end :( So saddd. I need to get my hands on the next book ASAP! From there we see how Thorfinn begins his tragic tale. It was very interesting to see how the Floki-Askelaad connections works. The death of Thorrs at Askelaad's hand is the driving force for Thorfinn's story. As the new trial comes to an end, one of Coco's rewards from Beldaruit the Wise is the story of Qifrey's past and how he came to desire the mysteries of magic. In addition to getting a premium upgrade, they’re throwing in some extras, like exclusive color art that’s never been seen in English before, as well as some commentary with the creator, Makoto Yukimura, who talks about key story moments. They’ve even tossed in color maps and concept art, giving us a behind-the-scenes peek.
