The Dachshund can trace its origins hundreds of years ago to Germany. Some sources place the origin of the breed as far as the 15th century, but a more likelier number is late 17th to early 18th century, when first concrete mentions of a dachshund-like breed can be found. Books from that era describe certain dogs named “Dachs Kriecher” (meaning “badger crawler”) or “Dachs Krieger” (“badger warrior”), and it is largely believed that this is when the Dachshund breed was actually developed as such- the previous mentions were more general and referred to all types of dogs fulfilling the role of badger hunting rather than a specific breed. The skin on a Bambino will be wrinkled and loose, and it could either feature a fuzzy, faint bit of down that could be described like the skin of a peach, or it could be truly hairless. However, because the skin is exposed, you need to take care that your pet won’t get burned by exposure to too much sun. You can also give your kitty a sweater to wear if he is feeling chilly. These breeds can be sorted into the categories of miniature, dwarf, and teacup. Bear in mind that the selective breeding necessary for these types of cats is a highly controversial issue. Reputable breeders who sell these cats should be able to ensure that the animals are healthy, and inbreeding should be avoided as well. Twin spouts enable the Bambino to pour two evenly sized drinks at once, although we found it was a bit of a squeeze to comfortably place two espresso cups side by side on the drip tray. The vibrations created by the machine during brewing also meant that a single cup on the drip tray would often rattle and move around – although not to an extent that the drink missed the cup. Another possible threat is hip dysplasia, an inherent condition with the hip joints that affect many dog breeds across the world. Also, both Chow Chows and Frenchies have the possibility of forming kidney stones. This possibility is passed on to the French Chow. Urinary stones are quite a painful condition, but they can be treated. Also remember that you can find a variety of feline breeds in animal shelters and within foster networks, so consider adopting a miniature kitty before shopping for one so that you can save a life. The Chow Chow, on the other hand, is an even older breed. It has a quite enigmatic history! It was first bred in China, where there is mention of this powerful breed being used for warfare and sled-pulling. Its true origins might be even older – some 2,000 years before the present! Where the French Bulldog is a generally small-sized breed, the Chow Chow is without a doubt robust and bulky. So what about their outcome? Who do the weight and size lean to? And the answer is no one! The French Chows are somewhere in the middle between the two parent breeds and can be fitted in the medium-size category. In general, you should expect your pet to be between 30 and 50 pounds in weight, and around 14 inches tall.
