I love the narrative surrounding the friendship formed by Sunset and Destiny. Sunset's character was far more developed than Destiny. I feel for Destiny's mum as well who was never developed further than as a character obsessed with Danny, and she never gained her own agency. It would have been great to see a storyline where Destiny and her mother find happiness with themselves, after seeing Danny's reality at the premiere.

Destiny is also an interesting character. At just 11 years old she feels more like the parent and has to plead with her mother, Kate, to seek help for her deteriorating condition. It feels as though we are meant to pity Kate for working so hard and trying to connect Destiny with her father - and whilst it was certainly sad to read about her neglecting her own health and falling into a depression, any likeability for her character was destroyed by how frustrating it was to read about her hysterical obsession with Danny and the way in which she neglects Destiny because of it.Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments Alongside the mini-series, Sky Kids will also release a partner series on the 11th February called On Tour: Little Darlings filmed by sisters Destiny and Sunset from a luxury tour bus whilst on tour with their dad.

Sky is Europe’s leading media and entertainment company and is proud to be part of Comcast Corporation, a global media and technology company that connects people to moments that matter. Across six countries, Sky connects 23 million customers to the best entertainment, sports, news, arts and to our own award-winning original content. I can't quite believe how selfish Sunset's mother was as she put what she wanted before her children's needs. She also complained the father couldn't look after the children when she clearly couldn't either. Jacqueline Wilson is a great writer and has produced many great stories, but 'Little Darlings' just wasn't that one of them. It felt like she was trying to mix her other books, 'clean break', 'illustrated mum' and 'secrets' together.Alongside Lemar and Jamelia, Janae Vito plays Destiny and Diaana Babnicova plays Sunset. They are supported by Kayla Mai Alvares as Sunset’s sassy younger sister, Sweetie, and Cameron Douglas as Ace, her tiger-obsessed brother. The series also stars Rufus Jones as Danny’s agent, with series writer Nathan Bryon playing Kate’s hairdressing business partner. Sunset was a wonderful sister to her siblings and it was sad to see her being the responsible one and trying to fix things. She deserved so much better. Sunset's character was fairly developed; it's clear how her mum's constant nagging affected her confidence and I enjoyed reading the passages where she retreated into 'Wardrobe City' and found comfort in her imagination, and later channelled this creativity into songwriting. Her parents intense arguments force her to step up and help take care of her two younger siblings, and she develops a sweet bond with the nanny Claudia which was a nice addition and good way of including an adult voice to condemn her parents' behaviour within the story. Jacqueline Wilson wrote her first novel when she was nine years old, and she has been writing ever since. She is now one of Britain’s bestselling and most beloved children’s authors. She has written over 100 books and is the creator of characters such as Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather. More than forty million copies of her books have been sold. As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children’s Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children’s Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame.
