I gave this book two stars because it does do a decent job of describing the personality of a narcissist and the dynamics found within a narcissistic/codependent relationship. However, it is a very poorly written book – a lot of times I found myself going, huh? It was painful to read about the subject matter but sadly it was also painful to read in general because it was written by, more than likely, someone who doesn’t write professionally and I highly doubt the author used an editor which is too bad because it could’ve been a great book. Jamison was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.[1] Her parents are Joanne Leslie, a nutritionist and former professor of public health, and economist and global health researcher Dean Jamison; Leslie Jamison is the niece of clinical psychologist and writer Kay Redfield Jamison.[2] Jamison grew up with two older brothers. This person who claims to be an author basically aired her bad opinions of men and at the end of the book writes “maybe it will inspire you to write a book, too!”They have no credentials, they are not an expert on the topic, and the tone of the ‘work’ is very much in the way of something a person should discuss with a therapist, not a book.
