About this deal

last thing i needed now were any more watches, but when i saw the red and root beer dials, they were hard to find versions that i’d admired for years. Come join the discussion about watch collections, displays, watch winders, accessories, classifieds, and more! Nothing in your watch collecting journey should influence your perceptions other than your own personal tastes and goals as an enthusiast.

Besides the Swiss made quality that is inherent in any Rolex, what else is different when you compare the Submariner to the 8926ob? I compared the Invicta Pro Diver with my Tissot Supersport Chrono– a watch where luminosity is a secondary matter. I like its case side engraving because it gives it a real identity; it doesn’t pretend to be a Rolex. What is more amazing about the case in these watch models is that it makes the watch easy to read even underwater. As such, with the 8926OB model, you get the best value for your money as well as a timepiece that will last a couple of years.

The folding clasp is relatively thin but has a few saving graces like the micro-adjustment points (4 of them) and the safety, which helps ensure it does not catch on something and suddenly come undone. The Invicta also has an automatic movement but only a mineral class, and the quality is of course lower. Our watch sizing tool is incredibly easy to use, allowing you to manually add or remove bracelet links to achieve the perfect bracelet size.To set the time, pull the crown out to the second position and rotate clockwise until the correct time is displayed. The round applied markers may seem a bit too small at times since they don’t have the visual presence they should.

Unlike a dedicated and focused homage brand like Steinhart, Invicta has no shame in copying anything that is vaguely successful or currently in trend. Lug width on the Invicta Pro Diver bracelet is 20mm and it tapers down to approx 18mm at the clasp, which I find to be incredibly well balanced and very comfortable. Some reviews, including this one, however, have criticized the Invicta branding on this diver, especially the Invicta name on the side of the case.

I own a couple of far more expensive Tissots, Seikos and Oris’ but out of every ten days I wear this one 9… Use it while sporting and swimming: never a problem. I side them in this regard because it looks out of place and doesn’t contribute to the appeal, not one bit. Besides, if you want a REAL fine watch, you get a Breguet of Patek Philippe, not a freaking drug dealer Rolex. Oftentimes, automatic watches without the possibility of manual winding won’t get wound entirely and stay half-wound. If this blog, however, has given you second thoughts then I can recommend you alternatively check out any of the watches from the Seiko 5 range.
