This book has absolutely wonderful artwork in it and, in fact, this is what first drew me towards it. Author and illustrator Jeffrey Brown turns run-of-the-mill parenting activities into fun moments full of Star Wars references.

We also produce author and illustrator interviews and share literacy based articles that help parents, grandparents, teachers and librarians to grow readers. Usually my brother puts his presents from me straight into the bin or the charity bag, but he says this one is v cool, so that is recommendation indeed!

I bought this book because I think it is really, really funny to look at Darth Vader doing normal, every day things. It’s a must-have for Star Wars fans of all ages, as it’s not only insanely cute, it’s quite humorous, too. Rather, his wry drawings are just enough to both satirize and shed a humorous light on otherwise serious and pivotal scenes.

Jeffrey Brown is the best selling author and illustrator of the middle grade Jedi Academy series as well as the Darth Vader and Son series. Set up as a series of illustrated tableaus from the life of a Darth Vader who, instead of learning only mid-way through Empire Strikes Back that Luke Skywalker is his son, is the single father of a four-year old Luke (featuring a cameo from the other Skywalker twin, Leia–oops! It maintains the personalities of the characters and places that we know and love from the series but puts them into real world situations. My son also likes it (he's 3) as he looks a lot like Luke in the drawings - he actually thinks it IS him in the book. Celebrated artist Jeffrey Brown’s delightful illustrations give classic Star Wars® moments a fresh twist, presenting the trials and joys of parenting through the lens of a galaxy far, far away.As a Star Wars generation kid-disclaimer: the original Star Wars movies, not the prequels-this little book was pure joy. In this hilarious and sweet Star Wars® comics reimagining, Darth Vader is a dad like any other—except with all the baggage of being the Dark Lord of the Sith.

It is a book for parents and especially for Star Wars’ fans since its humor is completely based on these movies for the most scenes. Jeffrey Brown (Incredible Change-Bots) crashes headlong into George Lucas's galaxy far, far away with endearing, funny-and fully licensed-results. I haven't read or seen anything else by him but my whole family has enjoyed reading through Darth Vader and Son.However, the book also provides ample proof that adding a babysitting Darth Vader to any Star Wars situation makes it gently humorous. In another, Luke trick or treats in the costume of a Storm Trooper while Mon Mothma asks “Aren’t you a little short for a storm trooper? Darth Vader and Son is a fun and light hearted take on how Darth Vader would have been as a father to his son Luke Skywalker, it has references to multiple people and stories from the actual franchise and is drawn in a cute manner. Normally I save my reviewing for longer books but this book was so much fun I just had to make a plug to help get the word out.

Be amused by the Dark Lord teaching Luke and Leia invaluable life lessons and chuckle at the funny illustrations any parent will be able to relate to throughout the year! Darth Vader and Son is a Star Wars ® book that makes a great gift or a just because purchase for yourself! Jeffrey Brown is the author of numerous graphic novels and comics, including Cat Getting Out of a Bag and Cats Are Weird.Stay in control and rule over the Galactic Empire with this stellar Star Wars, Darth Vader and Son Calendar for 2024! It is comprised of one-page comic illustrations that show Darth Vader parenting Luke Skywalker, and it was first published on April 18, 2012 by Chronicle Books. Jeffrey Brown has written some really good kids' stories around the padawan Jedi Roan Novachez character, but this series of books "Darth Vader and .
