Description

Love, Rosie was a book that I borrowed from the library and I am SO so glad that I didn’t buy this book purely because I really didn’t enjoy the story or the characters. Plus the ending was utterly predictable and also really frustrating. I didn’t connect with the way it was written and I also thought the way everything ended up happening was a little weird. I will say that I could see the appeal of this story line, however it just wasn’t for me. The side characters were so cute and I loved them all. I loved Ruby and her siblings and his siblings and Katie and Josh as well. Rosie applied to Boston University and got accepted, while Alex got into Harvard. But life had other plans for them, Rosie got pregnant. She slept with a guy that night Alex didn't arrive to escort her to a gala. She decided not to move to the US and pursue her studies there. Rosie stayed in Dublin. She struggled making ends meet. She struggled raising her daugher while working on jobs that would feed them both. Although she had the support of her parents, it still had been hard for Rosie. Rosie and Alex are destined for one another, and everyone seems to know it but them. Best friends since childhood, their relationship gets closer by the day, until Alex gets the news that his family is leaving Dublin and moving to Boston. At 17, Rosie and Alex have just started to see each other in a more romantic light. Devastated, the two make plans for Rosie to apply to colleges in the U.S. I’m writing you this letter because I know that if I say what I have to say to your face I will probably punch you.

basically, this book was an absolute roller coaster ride filled with extreme frustration and a severe case of toying with my emotions, but I am very much pleased with the ending of this book. But I guess I can go by that since I unexpectedly enjoyed the exchange letters! It was really fun, actually, even though I may have cried a little at the beginning (I know, SO NOT ME). I was just sad when Alex had to move to Boston missing the debs and the chance of rescuing his best friend from the "worst" night of her life (in hindsight it wasn't that bad). Rosie Dunne I love you with all my heart, I have always loved you even when I was seven years old and lied about falling asleep on Santa watch, when I was ten years old and didn’t invite you to my birthday party, when I was eighteen and had to move away, even on my wedding days, on your wedding day, on christenings, birthdays, and when we fought. I loved you through it all. Make me the happiest man on this earth by being with me.Again, Rosie, you're just not stretching far enough. I'm right here. Always have been, always will be. This book was...okay. It wasn't bad, it did make me laugh and giggle a bunch which saved this book for me! Although, there was a major downfall for me: I am a quiet, introverted young lady who loves to hide her face in a book, and indulge in sharp intakes of breath from a new book. Currently Reading: Rosie Dunne and Alex Stewart have been best friends since they were four years old. Together they brave their school years, remaining an inseparable duo right up until they are eighteen. When Alex’s parents decide to move the family to Boston, Rosie is devastated that he is leaving her behind in Dublin with only one last year of school left to go. Now separated by the Atlantic Ocean, Rosie and Alex dutifully remain in touch, looking forward to their reunion. However, a delayed flight and an unfortunate school dance mean their plans are about to be put on hold. Pocas veces cerré un libro con la sensación que Love, Rosie me dejó en el pecho al hacerlo y por eso mismo no puedo insistir lo sufieciente en que le den una oportunidad. No se pierdan esta obra de arte.

overall, i truly enjoyed this novel! i'm surprised at how invested i was into the story – finishing it in three days even though i was quite busy in my ~real~ life. i do think it could've been a bit MORE at some parts, but i still find it enjoyable and nice. i'm glad it put my mind into perspective of things, and now i'm off to watch the movie and perhaps write some letters. Le puse 5 estrellas porque me hizo sentir mucho esta historia; me hizo reír varias veces, me hizo suspirar aún más, pero a su vez me desesperó tanto, me hizo enojar demasiadoooo y me hizo llorar como mensa.... But I guess I can go by that since I unexpectedly enjoyed the exchange letters! It was really fun, actually, even though I may have cried a little at the beginning (I know, SO NOT ME). I was just sad when Alex had to m The Price of Love: a mesmerizing and emotional saga of love and loss set in Liverpool from much-loved and bestselling author Rosie Harris I don't want to say it was a waste of my time because it was enjoyable at points but I just wish it was better since I don't read contemporary novels often so I went out on a whim with this one and was disappointed.

You deserve someone who loves you with every single beat of his heart, someone who thinks about you constantly, someone who spends every minute of every day just wondering what you're doing, where you are, who you're with and if you're OK. You need someone who can help you reach your dreams and who can protect you from your fears. You need someone who will treat you with respect, love every part of you, especially your flaws. You should be with someone who can make you happy, really happy, dancing-on-air happy. Someone who should have taken the chance to be with you years ago instead of becoming scared and being too afraid to try. RTÉ Television - the Afternoon Show". RTÉ.ie. Archived from the original on 17 June 2013 . Retrieved 22 May 2013. The worst thing about Love, Rosie was the way that Alex treated women all the way through this book. There was never really a lot of love between them and I always thought that they were seen as being disposable or to fit a purpose in his life. I just didn’t think that he was all that and I definitely wouldn’t be interested in him if I had known everything he had put his families through. Collins and Claflin juggle the juxtaposition between carefree youth and life’s best-laid plans being thrown akimbo thanks largely to a sparkling and well-paced screenplay by Juliette Towhidi (Calendar Girls). At times it dips into the slightly bawdy, but it also creates moments of touching pathos among the litany of missed chances and miscommunications that the genre mandates. I HAVE TO write this book review but it's gonna be so hard! I have billions of notes on my e-reader I think I'll end up not writing it at all. OH MY GOD, THIS IS MUCH MORE FRUSTRATING THAN THE WHOLE BOOK WAS.]

She and her books have won numerous awards, including the Irish Book Award for Popular Fiction for The Year I Met You. I am highly torn over whethether to give this three or four. If I had the choice, it'd be 3.5, so 4 would be over rating it. 3, on the other hand, is under rating it. I've gone with three because I prefer to under rate than over rate. So yeah... on to the review... Cover: I've seen two of the covers - The move cover (Left) and the book covers, even the original title of 'Love, Rosie' which was 'Where Rainbows End'. A large majority of the time, I opt for the original book covers because the movie covers either ruin it or give faces to characters which I haven't met yet. I like to imagine these characters for myself, and what they might look like based on small descriptions here and there - it allows the world to expand all within my own head without having someone else force this image there. But, this time was an exception. I absolutely adore the movie cover for Love, Rosie. It reminds me a lot of the movie, ' Like Crazy' where it's a romantic setting just between the two main characters. That lens flare. That 'look-at-the-other-when-they-aren't-looking'. The cute little gestures (Like looking at a camera together). It was so cute, and the original books covers couldn't rival it at all.Volver a releer este libro fue una de las mejores decisiones que tomé últimamente. Amo esta historia y a sus personajes con todo mi corazón. Cecelia Ahern's novels generally have really bad cheesy rom-com looking covers. Ones that I normally skim over, because they don't look like they'll appeal to me. Novels about a wife who finds out that her husband is having an affair and she has to move away to re-find herself. Yeah...not my most favourite type of novel, so I was pleasantly surprised when I read Love, Rosie. I've heard of Cecelia before with her book, ' PS, I love you' which I actually saw the movie before I read the book. Because sometimes the best things in life were right in front of you the whole time. So If you're waiting for the right time you might be waiting forever."
