About this deal

I have no complaints about the cleaning results achievable with this brush. They are more than satisfactory. Brush heads are interchangeable – choose the style your prefer A new style of charging stand is included. Compared to previous stands with a 2 pin power adapter, this has a USB type A male connector. The cable is hardwired into it and measures 43 inches (110cm) long. The footprint of the stand is smaller too with a more rounded shape. There are several ProtectiveClean brushes, but all have similar specifications. Unlike the DiamondClean, toothbrushes in the ProtectiveClean range have a pressure sensor, and will warn you if you're applying too much force when you brush. This is great for anyone who tends to be a bit heavy-handed, and has been warned that they're at risk of damaging their enamel.

This clever system is otherwise known as BrushSync technology. Our guide to BrushSync explains the things you need to know. To help with this the 3100 has a pacer built in. At 30 second intervals, the timer pauses the bristle motion. It creates a change in the sound and brushing sensation. This is your cue to move between the 4 sections of the mouth until all have been brushed. Powerful bristle vibrations drive microbubbles deep between your teeth and along your gum line for a refreshing experience. You will get two month’s worth of manual brushing in just 2 minutes.** 31,000 brush strokes per minute gently clean your teeth, break up plaque, and sweep it away for an exceptional daily clean.Too often products are more complicated than they need to be. Thankfully the 3100 Series isn’t. You can switch between 2 brushing intensities The 3100’s handle is slimmer and lighter than previous Sonicare models with similar features and price point. Comfortable to hold thanks to the slim rounded profile Durable and quality feeling in the hand It has five brushing modes (clean, white, sensitive, gum care and deep clean), but is only supplied with a single brush head. Built-in pressure sensor automatically detects pressure you apply. The toothbrush will make a pulsing sound as a reminder to ease off the pressure. Always know when to replace your brush heads with the brush head replacement reminder, based on actual use. Slim, light-weight, and ergonomic design makes the toothbrush easy to hold and use so that you can get an amazing clean without any strain.

There's also a pressure sensor to warn you if you're pressing too hard with the brush, plus three brushing intensity levels and four modes. ProtectiveClean brushes have fewer cleaning modes than the DiamondClean (between one and three), though most have several intensity options so you should still be able to find one that suits you. Philips Sonicare DailyClean series Either way, the clean from the DailyClean is impressive. I’ve been using the Easyclean for months as my regular toothbrush, and the DailyClean doesn’t really feel any different. Gums are massaged nicely, with good cleaning between the teeth, and your gnashers are left feeling smooth and really clean, thanks to the high-speed vibrations of the head.Using them for more than 3 months can result in less effective and more abrasive brushing. This is because the bristles will have worn. There is no whitening or gum care mode. Despite the common misconception that additional modes bring extra benefits, they rarely do. Minimal and clean design looks good and makes the brush easy to clean The 2 minute timer and pacer encourage even brushing of your teeth

Keeping things simple is the 2 minute timer that turns the brush off automatically when the dentist recommended 2 minutes of brushing time has passed. If you turn the brush off yourself, you haven’t brushed for long enough. Built-in pressure sensor automatically detects pressure you apply, warns you, and reduces the toothbrush vibrations automatically to help protect your gums. The toothbrush will make a pulsing sound as a reminder to ease off the pressure. All Sonicare DailyClean brushes are supplied with one brush head and last up to two weeks on a single charge, but only the DailyClean 3100 has a light to indicate the current battery status, which is a very useful feature. The 1100 and 1200 may be cheaper, but we think it's worth paying a little extra for the battery indicator so your brush doesn't run flat. weeks of use is now common for an electric brush. Whilst Philips doesn’t advertise such usage times, premium models achieve this.

Yesterday’s battery technology, but good physical design and excellent cleaning save the day

Although rounded, the handle isn’t a perfect cylinder and there is a slightly squared design to the handle which works well. Brushing time and technique are more important than any particular toothbrush. It’s therefore worthwhile familiarizing yourself with how a timer and pacer work to get maximum benefit. The pressure sensor helps to stop you from brushing too hard Philips Easy-Start program gives you the option of a gradual, gentle increase in brushing power the first 14 times you use your new toothbrush. One advantage of a limited set of features is that you can keep things really simple. The DailyClean has just the one button to turn it on and off along with a battery indicator, and that’s it. Put some toothpaste on the head, turn it on, brush your teeth and then switch it off. Job done. The supplied C1 ProResults head should have the chip built in, but might not. Philips has altered the box contents since launch.
